Would these make a good pre-shave oil?

A little help required from those who know a bit about oils etc. I have the following ingredients at home already and I want to use them to make myself a pre-shave oil. Would the following make a good pre-shave oil?

  • 50:50 Grapeseed oil:Sweet almond oil
  • Little bit of liquid Lanolin
  • Little bit of Glycerin
- Will the 2 carrier oils be good for PSO purposes?
- How much lanolin and glycerin should I put per ounce of the carrier oils?
- Are there any downsides to any of these ingredients? Will any of them take away from the purpose?
- I also want a totally unscented oil. Are grapeseed and sweet almond unscented?

I do not have any experience with those per say, but I have used olive oil and jojoba oil and they performed exceptionally. :thumbup1:

Sweet almond oil has a natural scent and is good for dry skin and helps skin heal from any irritation

It's hard to go wrong with pre-shave oil as long as you use common sense. Generally, a pre-shave oil conditions the skin be a shave. Anything (reasonable) that lubricates and moisturizes should be adequate.

Thanks gents.

If I am making a 50mL bottle, how much glycerin and lanolin (which is super thick) should I add?

I use a shave oil that I mix into the lather & it's made of (2)jojoba oil, (2)rosehip seed oil, (1)grapeseed oil, (1)extra virgin olive oil & (1)avocado oil - in those proportions (for no particular reason!).

However, I do not think that there is a discernible difference in the quality of the shaves - compared to the shaves that I was getting before, using just plain olive oil as a preshave, which worked just fine.
