Wooden Bowl for Mixing Lather/Brush Loading

I found this great wooden rice/miso-soup bowl #5251 on Amazon for under $6 including shipping. It has a rim on the bottom that is perfect for holding when brush-loading or mixing lather. The dimensions are:
4-1/2in Dia x 2-3/4in H x 2in Deep. I've gotten several of these and find them to be an excellent bowl that has sufficient texture so it can be used for bowl lathering. Just thought I'd pass along this great buy.

I don't know what kind of wood it is; and Amazon has nothing listed for its makeup. The bowl has a varnished-like finish; it may be impregnated with a polyurethane or some such topical finish. Whatever the wood, it holds up extremely well. I've been using one for about seven months and it shows no sign of fading or wear of any kind. I find it to be an excellent brush-loading or lather-mixing bowl.
