What's new

Williams...new? old? What's going on?

Just to add to the current crop of Williams threads. I was just at my local CVS store, and while waiting for a prescription, I thought I'd check out the shaving isle. I looked at the new boxes of Williams, and I don't know why, but I checked out the ingredients. Second after potassium stearate was sodium TALLOWATE. Now I thought that the new Williams does not use tallow anymore. Did I find a valuable secret stash or is this now common?

as i have come to understand it tallow used to be the first ingredient and now its the second. so hope you grabbed one so you can join the williams fray.

Having done my bit and voted earlier, I'm doing anything rather than watch the election night coverage.

As far as I know, that's just how the modern formula is.

A while ago, I recorded the ingredients on my one puck of vintage Williams (now gone) and a new one. This is what I came up with.

OLD:
Tallow, Stearic Acid, Water, Coconut Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Potassium Hydroxide, Fragrance, Titanium Dioxide, Isopropyl Cresols

NEW:
Potassium Stearate, Sodium Tallowate, Sodium Cocoate, Water, Glycerin, Fragrance, Sodium Chloride, Titanium Dioxide, Stearic Acid, Pentasodium Pentetate, Tetrasodium Etidronate, May also contain Sodium Palm Kernelate

You see williams tries to play tricks and make you want to use. I have seen it happen a hundred times.
