Why no rose colognes?

Czech & Speake No.88
Czech & Speake Dark Rose
Domenico Caraceni 1913
Amouage Lyric for Men

All rose scented colognes. Quite expensive though but very nice!

There a lot of them, but they mostly don't put "rose" in their name.

As mentioned:

Czech & Speake No.88 $$
Czech & Speake Dark Rose $$
Domenico Caraceni 1913 $$
Amouage Lyric for Men $$$$$
Pens Hamman Bouquet $$

PLUS

Washington Tremlett Black Tie $$
Creed Windsor $$$$$$$$
Tauer Incense Rose $$
Pens Elixer $$
Le Labo Rose 31 $$$

Rose is a "note" in a ton of male frags, but pronounced enough to be noticed in all the above.

IMO, the best of the lot above are DC 1913, No. 88 and Windsor. But the price of Windsor may cause you pause. It is the most authentic rose note I've run across, but it is a quirky, aloof sort of scent. No. 88 and DC 1913 are warmer and a bit more versatile. Le Labo Rose 31 is the sexiest with a little bit of "dirty" in it.

Are you looking more for "warm, friendly, approachable" or "aloof, arrogant, don't mess with me?"

I am mainly looking for a pure rose scent that isn't too feminine, but smells like rose nonetheless.

Bro - You and I are on the exact same wavelength. Not just in this thread, either.

...and I LOVE your "$$$" system!

Elizabethan Rose is a pretty straight rose scent. For me, though, that was uncomfortably feminine.

I don't feel that way with rose shave soap and coral skin food. It's probably because they fade pretty fast.

I wear Savoy Rose from Saint Charles Shave because its a very distinct single note rose. SWMBO doesn't care for it that much but she never said it had a feminine flavor; more a little to old fashion.

Pen's "Elizabethan Rose" is a very pure rose scent, and although its marked as a feminine scent, I think its more an unisex scent and men can wear it, too. I do from time to time.

Eau d'Italie Paestum Rose
L'Artisan Parfumeur Voleur de Roses

EDIT: +1 on Windsor. It's fast becoming my favorite rose scent.

I get rose from Pens Castille. Great stuff.

Have you tried a Rose Hydrosol from QED. That will satisfy a true rose note for a while and it is wonderfully old school.

Amouage Homage. Not a cologne (pure parfume oil) but has the cleanest, brightest and "prettiest" rose opening of any fragrance that I've tried (including a pure highest quality Taif'i Rose oil a friend got me from Dubai).

Castille smells better than roses; smells more like white peony to me. Agreed that it's an insanely great scent.

Great stuff, agreed. But intensely strong. The sillage made me uncomfortable; I don't want to be trailing a wake of scent.

It's funny, even though I like Pen's Elixir, which their website claims "echoes" Hammam Bouquet, I just don't get the rose note in it.

had only a brief test of it, so can't argue it one way or other. The notes claim Turkish rose in the heart, and rosewood in the base.
