Who has the best traditional Bay Rum scented soap?

Gentlemen:

My first and only experience with a Bay Rum scented soap was the QCS rendition. Frankly, I was underwhelmed, because it smelled like plain old sea water to me. Without knowing anything about the scent or its history, I thought, "Really? Is this what the whole fuss it about? It smells like an ocean bay (not thinking leaves), and there's no rum!" Now that I've done edumacated myself about the scent and its history, I'm thinking QCS missed the mark - and by a lot!

So now I want the "full monty" of Bay Rum scented soaps. I mean, I want to smell the bay leaf, the rum, the spices (with or without clove), etc. and a lot of it!

Who's got the best Bay Rum scent in a high performing soap?

Mikes bayrum is pretty rocking....When he introduced the scent he sold for half price ....let us wetshavers spread the word of his awesome . Mikes sells samples that are pretty good sized as well

I guess I'm a simple guy, but I like all of Ogallala Bay Rum scents. Honeybee also has a great Bay Rum.

For me, Ogallala, SRD and Mikes are all great performers. Ogallala and SRD are melt & pour (glycerin) soaps and Mikes is a tallow soap. "Best" of anything depends on my mood. This past week I've been using SRD West Indies Bay. SRD and Mikes have what I think of as a traditional BR scent (if there is a trad one). I wish their scents were a little stronger, but better too light than too heavy. Ogallala has the strongest scent, heavy on the clove like the aftershave which I like. I also have a puck of Ogallala BR & Sandalwood that I haven't opened it yet as I'm trying to use up some other soaps first. One of these days when my Amazon total is over $25, I'll throw in a Col Conk BR to compare.

+1. Not only does it smell great, it lingers throughout the day. My post shave routine is wash, alum, airdry, wash, unscented balm, done. Even after all of that, I can still smell the Bay Rum long into the afternoon.

I have been on this quest as well and I finally went for some Mike's. Yup, I concur! Great soap. Now you have me wondering about Mystic waters!

Mikes shaves the best, but has more vanilla which I like a lot. Mystic has a the best nose on almost any soap, but shaves too close for me. Wm Nuemann's makes a melt n pour that shaves great and is much more strongly scented - it's a fun alternative.
