While Panicking About Missing Textbooks, I Lost My Fountain Pen

Today I was in a panic because my textbooks were delivered to the wrong address. Fear overwhelmed me as I pictured my books being sold off by someone with no appreciation for the art of geochemistry. As I was running around trying to correct the problem I misplaced my FP. I searched and searched but the attempts were futile. When I returned to class, taking notes was not the same.

However, the USPS located my books and delivered them to me so, I am truly grateful for their efforts.

Thanks Everyone. I'm hoping it shows up again. Sometimes I put the coffee pot in the fridge so, who knows.

I know it isn't quite the same, but I managed to lose a Mont Blanc #31 while sitting at my desk at home. I tested in on a bit of stationery and chose a different pen. I went to put things away and it wasn't in the pen case or anywhere I could see. I somehow managed to lose it while sitting here and never getting up. I found it later after looking in my little pen drawer very closely and there it was. It turns out that if you are frantically looking for it this pen looks almost the same as the black Pelikan M150 it was sitting next to. Only after I realized my second M150 is sitting up stairs next to a sink drying from a cleaning did it occur to me there is an extra pen in the drawer. I really can't wait for my pen liner to arrive in a few days.

My Lamy Safari disappeared while I was on the train a few months ago. Still don't know if I want to replace it with another Safari or banish the memory of losing my first fountain pen forever with a different brand.

I also lost a safari. It was a ball point I carry when 'other' people need to sign things. My shirt had no pocket so I put it in my pants pocket. Got home and it was gone.

It's nice to have a support group here at B&B and know that others share in the pain of a lost pen.

...the art of geochemistry.

It's definitely more art than science.

I'm sorry for your loss and hope you find it eventually. I use a leather pen case, which makes it a little less likely that I'll lose a pen. Pens go in the case when I'm done using them and the case goes in my messenger bag.

Good advice about a leather case ... that saved my precious Aurora 88 once!

Gah! You don't want that one to get lost or broken! The only downside to pen cases is that if I lose a case, it means I've lost 2 or 3 pens. Hasn't happened yet, though (knock on wood).
