Spanish American War Era .30-40 Krag Jorgensen

I knew a WWII veteran (an ordnance officer) who thought very highly of the 30-40 Krag. It's on my C&R short list or at least on the bucket list to shoot one day.

Beautiful! Love firearms from the early 20th century. Wood and blued steel have so much more style than what we see now.

30-40 Krag is a nice round.

I had a Spanish-American war era Winchester model 1895 that was chambered for that round. Long gone now

Nice write-up! I've got one Krag that belonged to my Grandfather, still in original condition. My Dad has another that was sporterized and he still uses it for deer. They're very nice rifles. The action on them really is something you have to feel. Definitely the smoothest I've ever felt.
