Which to try for SWMBO?

I am planning on ordering some cream for my wife. She has taken over my Mama Bears! Anyway, I was telling her about TOBS Avocado, and she was interested (I've been wanting to try it as wel:001_rolle) but then I was thinking about Trumper's Coconut.

So the question is, which one? Avocado or Coconut? (First, that is)

Sorry to throw you a curve ball but what about Rose cream? I bought TOBS Rose for my SWMBO recently. She has yet to try it though since she usually shaves when I am at work and has no idea how to create lather with a brush. I'm going to fix that soon though.

I have not yet tried the avocado, but I know you will not be disappointed with the coconut. It is a fantastic product in my opinion.
The rose is also surprisingly nice, (although I prefer the coconut). I never thought I was a rose man, but I converted.

Hi, cousin "aholic"! Relatively new female wetshaver here. Having sampled both of the creams you mentioned, my preference of the two is definitely the avocado. It's lightly scented, and hard to describe. The coconut is strongly coconut scented. I don't like the flavor of coconut, so I think my dislike carries over to the scent, but YMMV.

However, what type of scents does SWMBO enjoy? If she has taken over your Mama Bears, in what scents? If she enjoys soaps, then why buy her creams? If she wants to try something different, that's fine. I guess what I'm getting at is ... be sure you're looking at things she likes (what types of scents are her soaps/bath gels/perfumes, etc.).

Yes, I wanted to try both of them. :blushing:

She took over my Patchouli and Lavendar, because it was the most "feminine" scent that I had. I showed her last week how to properly lather it up (of course, I HAD to demonstrate on HER legs!:thumbup1:). I have both soaps and creams, so it doesn't matter what I get. I mentioned the Rose to her, and she said definitely NOT. So, that's why the Avocado or Coconut.

I fixed that to the Badger & Blade way of thinking!

Right, right, right.

That's what I was thinking, too, eventually. Gotta take it one SCENT at a time! I think I'll go for the Avocado first, followed by Coconut after a while. She already thinks I have too many soaps/creams. If I tell her this one is for her, then it's a justifiable expense!

Just to throw a curveball at you...my wife doesn't like any of the floral stuff...she really likes the limes and orange scented things.

i highly recommend the avocado. my SWMBO said it is the most moisturizing thing she's tried. I have used GFT coconut. For some reason, I could never get a good shave from it, even though the lather seemed fine (YMMV obviously).

Personally I did not like the avocado. It was the smell, kinda strange, not bad, but not good either. It shaved well though, made a great lather and all that. Personally, the TOBS lavender was better for me but I see that she already uses a lavender scent. It really depends on what she likes as far as smell goes.

OK, went with the Avocado. It arrived promptly from Phil on Monday. I REALLY wanted to give it a spin before work, but since I primarily purchased it for SWMBO's use, I refrained.

She used it last night, and really enjoyed the scent and the shave it gave her legs. Which means I got to use it today. When I opened up the tub, it looked really firm, so I forgot it was a cream until I gave my brush a good swirl! So I loaded a bit more than was necessary, but proceeded to face lather. The Avocado gave me a great lather, and an equally great shave. The scent was OK for me, not too floral or feminine. I smelled cucumbers and watermelons (wierd, I know). I finished off my shave with an alum rub and the Ogallala Bay Rum and Sandalwood sample that Phil included for me. (He must have known I was looking into those as one of my next purchases!)

Anyway, when she came up to let me know I was running late, she asked if I had used HER cream!

Thanks for all the help in choosing this!
