What's your opinion of Old Spice Cream, because I've got a tube coming.

Ok gents, what's your opinion of Old Spice shaving cream, the Indian stuff? I've got a tube on the way to me from a trade and I'm just wondering what to expect.

I received a tube incorrectly from India (ordered Godrej, received Old Spice). I opened the tube. Strong Old Spice scent to it. I haven't tried lathering with the Old Spice yet. Old Spice just isn't my thing.

I have all three tubes and I love them very much and they are good creams. I don't like the scent of the musk as much as I do the original and fresh lime, but I still use it when the mood strikes. In my opinion they need quite a bit of water, but most creams do to produce their lather. It doesn't seem to be as finicky as some other creams and have a pretty wide window of water to product ratio. I often use them when I'm in a rush, I'm mostly a soap kind of guy with the matching after shave splash, also from India.

Good luck I hope you like it!

Good stuff, the second tube of cream I ever purchased after co bigelo, and I would rate it slightly higher unless you like menthol.

Question...
I checked the Old Spice website, and couldn't find it anywhere on there. Where would I buy their cream? I'm assuming it's something I would need to import?

It isn't made by P&G so you won't find it on their site. If you have any Indian markets near you, they may sell it. It is also available from a number of online vendors.

I love the stuff. Its a great performer like most of the Indian shave creams.

I'd love to score some in the wild. I have a number of Indian communities around but I haven't found the right market. The one near me has about 5 creams which I never heard of. Would love to try them all but who has the time. BigWill - there'd probably be plenty of takers if you were to BST or PIF wink wink. My local doesn't even have Mysore products. You have to love a brand which evokes the imagery that Mysore does.

If they have, Godrej, Palmolive, or Dettol Cool, pick some up. They are excellent creams and fairly low priced. I am a huge fan of them.

I ordered a tube of Old Spice Musk 70ml shave cream from eBay for around $5.00 delivered 4-5 day ago, so I am also waiting for it. My current shave gel is running low so I decided to give Old Spice Musk a try.

I'm 99% sure they have Godrej and Dettol (one with several scents?) but can't remember Palmolive. I would have probably went for that since the shavesticks are highly regarded. I may just break down one day.

Oh btw, another gem they have - Axe lather shave cream. Yes, Axe. It's in a smaller tube so would be good for travel. That scent is not my fav and it lingers. I guess it might be good for a new and funky smelling brush but not necessarily an improvement! All that said the Axe cream performs excellently as you might expect from the OS cream.

I got my tube from West Coast Shaving today and used it this evening...nice! A nice medium scent of Old Spice and I had no problem lathering the cream. I'm really glad I picked this up!

Got a few tubes from eBay...

Used it a few times, it's very good it terms of lather, it's also a very slick lather, holds for a while, doesn't dry out like other creams I have.

As far as the scent, it's actually not as great as I expected, a bit too strong even. It's still very nice and all, but maybe it's because I find it overwhelmingly strong.

I'm in the process of turning a tube into a soap puck as per another thread discussed a few months ago.

It's been a good month now, and it's now similar to silly putty to hardness/softness, and have been able to shape it into a small soap, made a quick support with aluminum foil (so that it dries underneath also instead of sitting there.

Had a shve with mine today. I must say it was not bad. The musk scent was mild and the cream itself was a little dry during the shave but overall it was not bad!

Any chance you remember which thread this was discussed in? A quick search turned up nothing. Thanks!

I have it a shot the other day, it's a nice cream I've found it works best on a thick beard on a thin beard I found myself using more cream then any other just to get a good lather, it whips up pretty nicely and has a nice smell to it if you like old spice it's pleasant but its tad on harsh side if you don't
