@Alum Ladd ...I knew somebody would do the math. I think, for $610 today's $$$, I could get a top tier modern CNC machined stainless razor and handle.

That was not a good experience.

I used to be that way too, but I got over it and modernized my den. Still one of my favorite razors is my '46-'47 Aristocrat. I don't think I've gone over $300 yet, but I don't really keep up with how much I spend on a razor.

As far as I can remember my Timeless Titanium at £165 was my most expensive.

My top price paid was $150 for a 1926 Schick injector type A. The blades load from the handle, not from an injector key, which came later from Schick in the 1930s. Razor looks really cool and shaves great.
