What's new

What's in your Old Spice Mug(s)?

Since Old Spice shaving soap is now long discontinued, I'm wondering what you use to fill the venerable Old Spice mug or mugs in your collection?

I have two OS mugs, one is filled with Tabac shave stick that got pressed in after being run through the cheese grater, the other houses a vintage OS puck.

I plan to get a third (one for me, and one for each boy when they are of shaving age) and I'll probably move my Prairie Creations OS type soap in there.

My Old Spice Mug (which looks near brand new, and was kindly PIFed to me by a very thoughtful member!! :w00t::w00t:) came in the mail yesterday.

A refill puck of Tabac now makes it's home there, and it fit perfectly in the mug, with no shaving/ modification to the puck required!! So perfect, that I think I would have a pretty difficult time in removing it. :thumbup1::thumbup1:

Mine houses none other than the genuine article. :thumbup1:

I had to pop for a vintage OS puck to atone for my great shaving sin: I tossed a gently used puck out because I figured it was just old soap. :mad2:

I don't know why, but having an OS mug around just seems mandatory, and once you have one, using a coffee cup (perfectly suitable and available at thrift shops for a song) just doesn't feel right.

I have a feeling I'm gonna end up with more than three...:tongue_sm

Interesting question.

Mama Bear's patchouli. I gave the bulk to my sainted Mother and poured a little in a mug for my own self.

Nothing anymore, it broke. The bottom just fell right out of it.

Prior to this sad event however, it was SCS Bay Rum or Honeybee's Old Spice.

One large mug holds about 70 5packs of RPP razor blades. Another smaller mug houses a 6 oz puck of Uncle Albert's Amazing Solid Cream Shaving Cake, Atriedes scent. :thumbup1:

I have Arko in one (my favorite design, an "Early Glass Mug 06," per the OS Mug Index noted above), and three empty ones (another Early Glass Mug 06, and two later models). I would use them more -- I have a Palmolive shave stick I'd like to put in one -- but I've always been a bit concerned that when I whip up the lather, the clacking of the brush handle against the sides will ding the brush handle up. Maybe I'm just overly cautious.
