Brooks Brothers boxers are simply the best. They are quality boxers and will last a long time. They have good style factor (change colors and patterns regularly). I have been wearing them for 30+ years and they have not changed the cut for a standard boxer size M. They are not the cheapest at around $15 each, but you really do get what you pay for. I never have to worry about what boxer short I am going to buy/wear, they are always available and I can count on them being the same great quality year in and year out. For something that is the first piece of clothing I put on each day, it's a no brainer.

I will add that boxers are the only thing I buy from Brooks Brothers and I do not spend a lot of money on clothing (but still have great style! haha).

The thing that drove me away from them was reading that they are not good for testicular health because they keep them too close to the body. Probably all mumbo jumbo, but that is why I switched.

It is true , heat is bad on sperm production or their staying active. Even tight jeans can be a problem for some men.

Uniqlo makes good underwear. I've been using them for over 4 years now. Their airism boxer briefs (mid rise) are fantastic. But yes, no cotton. I only sleep in boxers, and either wear flannel or ... ex officio boxers. Is YMMV a thing in underwear?

I've been going commando for years now. I'm single and no kids so that helps as I don't
have to be covered up with wife or kids around. I've been going without underwear for so long
I don't even remember if it took getting used to. You have to be sure to use caution to not dribble
on your pants though.

You must still be young. Once you become a senior citizen, going commando is probably not going to be an option. One day, you might even need Depends.

I have checked them out on the computer. But like you mentioned, they are pricey. .

Quality costs. I wear UnderArmor Heatgear boxer briefs- they were $25 about seven years ago. The still look almost new. Wash them in cold water then hang them up. They dry in about an hour. I do the same with my work polo shirts- also made of a performance material. As someone upthread said- driers milk clothes. I would also mention that consumer reports did a study on hot vs cold washing with modern detergents. They found no difference in level of cleanliness.

I generally ovoid using a clothes dryer, it really shortens the life of the garment and towels. But then the use of an iron is required.

I've tried all kinds and some were better than others. The latest that I have tried I got online called MeUndies and is made from a material called, Lenzing MicroModal. It starts off as beech trees. Anyway, I have found that these are the most comfortable I have ever worn and the material is very soft. Give them a try, you may be surprised. MeUndies.com.
