Although I certainly do not need more "51"'s... I found this at a yard sale, just down the block earlier this year.



"51" special...clear sac (likely never filled)...excellent draw... nib and feed in NOS condition. The only problem with it was the Jewel. It was gone. I replaced the jewel with one for a regular "51"....so it's not per se perfect.

Oh well... I guess 30 bucks was too much.

I have to return to all the places that I checked for razors and brushes now that pens have my interest. On another note, I'm flying with my new pilot vanishing point. I filled it completely and it is in my bag inside a zip lock. I checked at first layover and don't see any leaks! Also, in-flight Internet rocks!

Brian, that jewel looks OK, what color was the original, black? I forget, is the Special the one with an "octanium" nib?

Yes the Jewel is supposed to be black, and the special has the Octy nib and the strap filler....
