What was in your first wet shaving kit when you converted?

I'll go first.

Brush - Body Shoppe synthetic
Soap - Kiss My Face
Razor - Muhle R89
Blade - Derby
Aftershave - none

I can recommend KMF to some extent, and the same for the R89. My Derby blades got trashed and the brush saw the inside of a garbage pail pretty darn quickly.

Brush - Edwin Jagger Silvertip Medium
Cream - TOBS Lavender
Razor - Edwin Jagger DE89 (or 87 I forget)
Blade - Blade Sampler
Aftershave - Nivea Sensitive

I was 16, it was 1996, thought cart razors were stupidly expensive and cause irritation. I found a 1967 Slim in a antique store and bought some blades at the Walmart I was working in. No idea now what they were but they were cheep and worked for better. I had a OS mug, soap, and brush. I'm pretty sure the hair fell out about the time I went to college and switched to canned goo, edge I think.

Flash she forward to July last year, my trusty slim was dropped or banged by someone, not to be mentioned. Didn't know there was still DEs being made and found myself in B&B.

my replacement kit was

EJ DE86b
Tweezerman brush
VDH
Williams
Blade sampler
Clubman

It is far out of control now.

Actually, I never unconverted. I started wet shaving around 1960 with a Schick injector and Williams or Old Spice soap, but when the Great Extinction came along in the late 70s, 80s, and 90s, i was deprived of my stuff. When the good times returned, I used:

Brush - Victoria Pure Badger
Soap - C&E Sandalwood
Cream - TOBS Almond
Razor - Edwin Jagger De89
Blade - Wilkinson (German)
Aftershave - Trumpers Lime Skin Food

Nowadays, I am awash with all kinds of wonderful hardware and software and--joy of joys--several beloved Schick injectors that I found on eBay.

My first gear:

Soap: Williams (Can you still buy that? It was a perfectly fine soap, and I could find it at local drugstores.)
Brush: Body Shop synthetic (still have it, but prefer my Rooney Silvertip for some reason...)
Razor: Parker HD 98R (PIF'ed it to someone, now use an Ikon Slant)
Blades: Derby (now using Feather)
