What to use.. IN BETWEEN Shaves? Newb here!

As I enter into this wonderful world of DE and straight shaving I feel my shaves becoming much much closer, my shaving enjoyment skyrocketing and one other thing.. my skin adjusting to this new way of shaving. I no longer have skin irritation but there are a few specific hair follicles which are sore and there are sore spots on my neck and under-shin area. No nicks, no ingrown hairs, nothing! Just my skin feeling the difference. Are there any products you gents use in between shaves to maintain your skin?

Anyone get this? or am I just a freak of nature?

I myself am not at this two months yet, and my skin is still adjusting, not bad per se, but as you say, I notice a difference. Partly because I NEVER shaved daily, until I started DE shaving, now I enjoy shaving so much, I would shave twice a day if I could.

DOn't sweat it, or spend a fortune unneccesarilly, maybe some Nivea skin cream, two or three quid, will re-hydrate your face :)

Try a decent moisturizer at night or a good after shave balm; the new formula Proraso white balm is my go-to if I have a closer than usual shave and it really calms those spots down.

I'll hit my face with a little bit of a moisturizer during the day once in a while. Either one of the Vasoline for Men, or one of the men's ones they sell at bath and body works.

I've been hittin the face balm on occasion, and using some tallow soaps. Seems to be helping. But, I feel there's something to this. Anyone see any in between shave products that share similar fragrances i.e Sandalwood ect. with my shaving soaps?

I use an after shave balm or moisturizer (Clinique M lotion), but everyone's skin is different. Like most things here you're probably going to have to experiment a little.

I use various balms from various makers, the most effective solution that I've tried is Shea butter. Shea butter is really amazing in healing skin.

+1

My skin tends to dry out quite a bit (even did before I started to use DEs). I've tried all kinds of moisturizers and still do change it up. I usually use that in the mornings and then a bit later some shea butter and later in the day as well. I've only been using the shea butter in this way for about a week and I can already tell a difference.
