What makes your spouse UNIQUE?

Its 0400 hrs EST here and mine is racked out so its safe for me to post these thoughts.
A brief history; I consider myself fortunate to have married my childhood sweetheart. We were married shortly after graduating high school. The week of graduation I enlisted in the Marines. Upon completing basic, we were married, a little over 40 years ago. She aggressively pursued a career in medicine and after becoming an MD gave us 4 children. She did this with my maybe being home 3 to 6 weeks a year for the first 20 years, (alittle more/alittle less).

She now shares a role in raising our grand daughter, (12 years old-7th grade) whom we have custody of.

I could easily fill several pages but won't and simply finish by saying my Wife, Lauren thinks entirely differently than I, (has not watched an hour of television in the time I've known her) but is none the less the most logical, hard (tough), erotic, compassionate woman I have ever met and is the only living person on this earth that can actually handle me.

Also, allows me over 1/2 the counter space in our bathroom:001_smile

Mine is easily the most intelligent woman I've ever met. Really - she's a research scientist. She's also drop dead gorgeous and could have had the pick of the crop, but she picked me instead, some 20 years ago. I'm a very lucky man and still on my honeymoon with her.

My wife is an artifact technician. She's worked all over the country doing museums. Such as the Jamestown 400ths anniversary, Jimmy Carter, and the sant ocean hall in Washington DC. To me that's UNIQUE.

A couple things:

1. If you haven't already, you need to tell her all of this to her face, because I'm sure she would love to hear it! :001_smile

2. Your wife has my all-time favorite name for a woman (Lauren). I've always loved that name.

I fell in love with her the minute I met her. I love her eyes they sparkle like no other. They are the window to her soul. They still sparkle like the day I met her over 20 years ago.

I have and do!! The thought of fighting for and coming home to her kept me alive for over 32 years. Remember, I said I was fortunate. Guess I meant lucky.

The size of her....ummmm....heart. All kidding aside, she understands and accepts me for who and what I am and has never tried to change me or meld me into something I'm not.

She was not my childhood sweatheart - she was my childhood nemesis! We fought and squabbled non stop as kids. As teens, we went separate ways and did not meet again until 20+ years later. We didn't even recognize each other. When we introduced ourselves, we rolled our eyes and gagged (and laughed a long time). We've been inseparable ever since. She knows me better than anyone...and she's still with me 22 years later!

my fiancee (wife in Sept 2010) is amazing. We fell in love the very moment we met. what I love the most about her? she LOVES BBS shaves!!! She in essence had me looking around for something better than cartridge shaving, since my shaves sucked *** and left my face a mess, until i found this site!
She loves sports! Plays sports! and believes in giving a guy his space to do "his thing" I love her to death!

Mine has the patience of a saint. I suffer from mild depression and stupidly at times try to find the answers to my problems at the bottom of a glass. She never shouts at me when she has every right to but instead just offers me support when I am going through my low points. I don't know what I would do without her. Infact I can safely say without her I'm nothing.

Therein lies the key to every sucessful marriage ... compatability! It's not just about her being a 'good' person or having a great personality, it's about being the 'right sort of good' with the right sort of personality.

... and of course part of that is understanding/accepting/tolerating/pretending to like our shaving obsession, and not overly questionng the need for 5 tubs of Trumper's and 3 bottles of Clubman on the bathroom counter.

Well mine is an Assistant Manager of a Surplus store and is a very hard worker, she is the best thing to ever happen to me and incredible beautiful. We've been married for only three years but has managed to put up with me for about 10, we were high school sweet hearts and she was the girl across the street. She's always been very supportive and stood by my side through it all, she's a great woman!

I suppose the only truly unique thing about my wife is that she's married to me.

She's a lovely girl, whom I fell in love with at first sight. She has a hearing loss and uses American Sign Language, as do I, though we both did before meeting one another. She says that I understand her better than anyone she's ever known, including her family.

She is a frugal housekeeper, a gifted decorator, an inspired teacher (works with Deaf children) and a perfect mother. She's really blossomed into that role since giving birth to our first child a year ago.

She amazingly tolerant of my many hobbies: motorcycle riding, pipe smoking, photography, DE shaving.

We've been together 12 years, married for seven. It gets better nearly every day.

One other potentialy unique aspect of my wife, at least on this thread: today's her birthday.
