I'm curious how others describe their gear preferences. I find myself leaning towards vintage and artisan products and away from luxury ones. How about you?

ETA: nuts, I meant to have check boxes instead of radio buttons. Doesn't look like I can change that.

Everything I use on a regular basis is new, however I have a used Mergress and two vintage Gillettes, but neither are used much. I also have an old brush that I will never use.

I voted "All mixed up". I use what I use based on its performance. If it happens to be luxury or cheap, new or old, then that's incidental.

Mines a mixture, I CAN make up my mind what I want :001_rolle so I have what I consider to be the best of the new, the best of the vintage and the best of the customs, in razors, soaps, creams and brushes

For razors, I am mostly vintage. I have 14 razors, all of them vintage except for my "Lord Merkur Tech". I had a Merkur 38C, but sold it, once I found that for me my vintage razors out perform it by miles.

For everything else, I tend to look for budget minded products: TOBS, and C.O. Bigelow, VDH Deluxe, low cost aftershaves.

I have many safety razors most of which are vintage gillette. I have a few Merkurs, but my favorite is a Bob's Razorworks Bull Mastiff with a Gillette New Head. It outshaves all of the rest.

I have some vintage 3-piece Gillettes, but have only used them once due to their open comb design. It isn't planned, just everything I like using happens to be new. As another user mentioned, just due to performance. For me the Merkur 33c (new) works best. Has the most weight and feels best on my face.

As blasphemous as it may be; my weishi razor and VDH soap gives me a great shave. I've very happy with my economy shave.

Like so many others, I use what works. I do lean more toward classic scents in creams, after shaves, cologne, etc, but it really all comes down to efficiency for me. I use vintage straights, a vintage hone, a new strop, new brushes... You get the idea.

Hmm... I got hung up on the word 'style' everything except the razor (L1) Tech is new product but all from brands that have been around for a long time and in their classic styles. No contemporary styled brushes, holders or the like.

Nothing blasphemous about it, you're using what works for you. VDH soap has garnered itself a fine reputation as being a terrific performer.

Mixed up here, with a nod to economy. I personally have no need for a $300 razor, a $200 brush, or even a $30 bottle of after-shave. I use a small collection of vintage and new stuff, none of which a collector would drool over.
