What do you use for a travel cream?

I have to travel for work quite often and have to travel domestically and internationally sometimes. I like to travel light as possible. I have been looking for a good shave cream to use on the road. I have been looking for a new school cream, since I don't want to bring a bowl or brush, especially since my shaving supplies will be in my checked baggage. I use Bic Metals on the road (which I learned about from this site) and find them to be a good and inexpensive alternative to traveling with a real razor. So, I am hoping that this site will come through again and a fellow traveler will have a suggestion for me. I have tried several creams, and while many have been okay, none have been great. I have really dry and sensitive skin and am prone to razor burn and bumps, if I don't do everything just right. My main desire on the road is to have a comfortable shave that doesn't dry my face out. I have to shave every day on the road, while I only shave every other day when I am at home, and the rest helps my dry, sensitive skin.

The creams I have used so far:
Anthony Logistics: I feel like the cream doesn't give enough cushion and still have some razor burn when I use it on back to back days. The balm is great, but the cream when used with just your hands, is average at best.

Cremo Cream: Kind of a weird cream. Don't like the smell, and don't like that it dries out so fast. I know you have to apply it and then work in some water, but honestly, I have never been able to find the right water to cream ration and always have it too dry, or runny . Also, have a hard time getting a close shave with this cream.

Proraso Green: It lathers well with just the use of your hands and of course gives a good shave, but again I don't care for the smell (I worry that the people I am meeting will think I smell weird) and have had the tube explode inside my Dop bag. Baggage handlers aren't exactly delicate with your stuff. Also, drys my skin out, compared to other creams.

Art of Shaving travel tube: I like AOS with a brush and find they do a good job with their scents. They say it can be used with or without a brush, but I have found that there is a big difference in the quality of the shave, and the amount you need to use, when used without a brush and I am not gonna pay that kind of money for an average cream.

Pacific Shaving Company: So far my favorite cream on the road. It is slick and dense which helps with cushioning. It is inexpensive and a good size for travel. However, it is not a product I am all that excited to shave with. Sort of like driving a Buick, nothing wrong with it, just doesn't give you much to get excited about. However, if I can't find anything I like more, it will be my regular travel cream.

Kiss My Face: Just ordered this and got it today. I am excited to use it based on the reviews from this site.

Truefitt and Hill Ultimate Comfort: Thinking about giving this a try, but don't want to take the plunge on something so expensive. However, if it is as exceptional as some people say it is, it may be worth buying, since I won't be using it on a daily basis. Anyone, have any input on the travel tube and how it performs?

So what about it gents? Anyone have a travel cream that they love? Am I being too unrealistic with my expectations, considering I am not using a brush and a traditional cream?

Would love your input. Also, if you have a face wash, aftershave balm or something else that you really like, I would gladly take any recommendations. I have a thick beard with dry skin, so I am always looking for something that works well with those two issues (like many of you, I find myself buying a new cream, moisturizer or balm almost weekly). Curse my dry skin, I have an awful time finding a face wash or balm that doesn't dry me out in general. Nothing is worse than sitting in an airport, feeling like the skin on your face is so tight it is about to split open.

I know you are looking for something brushless, but I really don't have any experience with a brushless cream, when I travel the below pictures are what I take. Always a brush, but for protection I put it in this tube I found that is the perfect size (drilled holes top & bottom for air flow) you can get a large pill bottle from a pharmacy and do the same. The Velobra shave stick gives a very nice slick lather and the Merkur travel razor breaks down to 4 pieces - perfect for travel, it all fits inside the little leather case.

If I do take a cream, I put it inside this plastic container (especially if it's the metal tube type) like I have done here with some Tet-A-Tet, saves it from those pesky baggage handlers!!

The best hydrating moisturising cream I have found (by a long long way) is a Camellia Nut cream from Aesop. I think they are an Australian Company, but readily available around the globe (use the store locator to find one near you) it's not cheap, but gee whiz it's VERY hydrating.

I always bring a brush (no reason not to), and a shaving stick (usually La Toja). Sometimes I bring the travel size of Nancy Boy or one of the T & H samples.

If you really don't want to pack a brush, Stephan Stay Smooth conditioning Shave Cream, Brushless & Latherless 16oz @$5.25, it has Lanolin, Shea Butter and Mineral Oil. It gets slicker with more water and just a thin layer is needed, I'd recommend picking up a small plastic Travel Jar since the 16oz tub is pretty large. I buy mine from Appleton Barber; http://www.appletonbarbersupply.com/store/shopexd.asp?id=746 they do charge $10.00 Flat-Rate Shipping, so I ordered 6 plus a couple bottles of Master Aftershave, still $10.00 to ship, they also carry Pinaud & Stephan Aftershaves.

This is my "travel lite" kit

Shave stick. Small brush. DE razor. Blades. I use Vodka as an aftershave when traveling lite as it is available everywhere.

Cella.

Great performer in a great container. That red tub is solid, with a firm closure. Can't beat it.

I also travel quite a bit.

Have you tried the real shave company cream? I do not travel much anymore but find it to be a good performer in all areas. Plus it is relatively inexpensive and available at Rite-Aid.

Thanks for all the great suggestions guys! Looking forward to improving my travel shaving game. I have never used a shave stick, so I will be researching that, as I have only given it a cursory examination before. Also, got to learn about some new creams, that of course, have me itching to try them .

I gave up in my quest for a brushless cream - just wasn't happy with any results. The brush really doesn't take up that much space, and I'm much happier. I usually travel with the La Toja stick - no concerns about leakage or liquid requirements. I'm also a big fan of the Speick cream that comes in a reasonably-sized tube for travel (haven't tried their stick, but I've heard good things).

You should like the Kiss My Face. I'd also recommend Alba.

mftoms recommended Stephan Stay Smooth, with which I agree.
The scent may be an acquired taste, though.

Something a bit different I would suggest is the Real Shaving Co Shaving Oil. It is a gel formulation in a 50ml pump bottle. It's very compact and convenient and I get good shaves using on its own. It tends to be one of those things people either love or hate, but it is cheap to try.

+1. None of the sample sized product takes up too much room, so I don't go out of my way to minimize my travel kit.
