Wednesday morning shave

Razor: Super Speed
Blade: Astra SP
Brush: Boar
Soap: Williams
Post: Aqua Velva

A fine Wednesday morning shave. I’m getting much satisfaction returning to this vintage Gillette. I like being able to change things up and a DE shave provides just that.
Williams fits into a small jam jar with a little sculpting around the edge, a tidy package for a fine soap IMHO.
Have a great Wednesday!

What I have done for years now when using my Polsilver SI is cork it once and it works well it seems. I have a lot of them so I improvised and really enjoy the blade now, might be worth considering.
Thanks for that suggestion! Might be a good way to tame that edge. Of course, I corked that one on my face already!

Back to a Kai today, and back to a good shave:

The rating on Kai blades at refinedshave.com suggests they start dull but sharpen quite a bit over the next couple shaves. I would say this first use in my German 37 did feel a little less than ideal sharpness, so we'll see what happens. Today was a "recovery" shave, so I just did three regular passes and a tiny bit of touching up. No ATG except on some easy spots.

The results were uniformly DFS with a little irritation but no blood. My skin feels pretty good now, a few hours later. That's what I was shooting for. Love the Haverford. Just love it.

- Brush: Paladin 2-Band badger
- Razor: Rockwell 6S (R5)
- Blade: BIC Chrome Platinum (2)
- Soap: Noble Otter Rawr
- Aftershave: Noble Otter Rawr
- Post Shave: Thayers Rose, Hyaluronic Acid

Almost perfect nite time shave.

Rawr has such a nice clean scent and performs so well. Perfect scent for Summer.

The Paladin brush holds a ton of lather and the splay and soft tips are perfect. One of my favourite brushes.

I think BICs perform best in milder razors... Techs, Red Tips and similar. Not bad in my 6S with the R5 plate, but this combo can be a little rough.

Soap Stone Cottage Hesperide
Brush Yaqi 26mm Lucky Dice Tuxedo
Razor Yaqi AC Brass
Blade Feather ProGuard 16th Use
Post & Aftershaves Ice Water + Stirling Witchhazel MitA + Hyaluronic + Clubman Brandy Spice
A really nice hard puck of soap. Very easy to lather, nice musky scent, quite creamy and good slickness too...
Shave with razor paired with the well-used blade was still good, still very smooth and comfortable for 3passes without any issues resulting in a mostly bbs finish. Good aftershaves. A very enjoyable session. Rating 10/10!!
