The volcano drives my curiosity... I use this Haslinger soap for quite a while now. How does the added soap change its “latherability”?

happy shaves!

Razor: Timeless .95 Titanium Solid Bar
Blade: Gillette Perma-Sharp Super (2)
Brush: Grizzly Bay “Empress - EVO Deluxe” with 26mm High Mountain White (Bulb)
Bowl: Captain’s Choice Copper Lather Bowl (Heavyweight)
Soap and Aftershave: Barrister and Mann Le Grand Chypre

Result: 8.5 / 10
Had a really good BBS shave with no irritation or cuts but got a couple weepers on the ATG pass likely due to my lather being thin for the last pass, unfortunately a common issue with the High Mountain White knot. I love the Grizzly Bay handle but hate the HMW knot. I’ve used it 12 times and I still lose a dozen or so hairs each shave. It takes at least double the soap or more that any of my other knots require and it doesn’t release the lather probably because of how dense it is so it’s a roll of the dice if I will get enough lather for 3 passes or not. It feels really nice on the face but horrible for building lather. I’ve been trying to give it time to break in to see if it improves but am thinking if I don’t get better results in a few shaves, I will remove the HMW and replace it with something else. Oh well, I wanted to try a HMW as it sounded nice but like many things in this hobby, not everything works for everyone.

Another excellent soap from Stirling. Nice scent, creamy and slick lather...
Shave with razor paired with the vintage blade was surprisingly very good. Can feel it's crisply sharp but smooth and comfortable. 3passes for a mostly bbs result. Excellent aftershaves. Rating 10/10!
