Sunday shave,Feb 16th 2020- I like to use my Pal Injecto-matic every once in a while, two many injectors and not enough days. The Pal company spent well over 1 million dollars to develop this razor in the 1950's and they did a nice job for a injector IMO.

HOLY EXPLETIVE!
This is the first time I've combined all of these elements, and I'm so glad I did! I used the Proraso pre-shave while prepping my lather, then rinsed it off and covered my face with the bloom water. I also used bloom water between each pass. This made each pull of the razor feel like it was skating on glass, and I could hear my whiskers being cut but never felt them. I did one WTG pass, and two XTG, one in each direction, and my shave is amazingly close. Easily DFS++. I'll try this same setup again tomorrow with my R41, just to see how much better it could be (if at all).

Shave 20200216

Continuing my 2020 Resolution to stop chasing BBS!

20200216_110655~2.jpg

Prep: Splashed water on face
Pre-shave: n/a
Brush: Graydog Backyard Maple Handle, 26mm "Full Moon" Synthetic
Cream: La Toja
Bowl: Captain's Choice Copper
Razor: GEM Featherweight Deluxe
Blade: Ted Pella GEM Personna (3)
Post-shave: Dickinson's Hydrating Skin Toner
Aftershave Balm: Duke Cannon w/Menthol
Aftershave: La Toja

WTG, ATG and XTG. Minor touch-up and buffing.

DFS++ (BBS except between my nose and my top lip). Zero weepers, nicks, cuts or irritation.

Beautiful combination of hardware and software results in, once again, a truly great shave! :)

YMMV

Razor: Ikon B1 OC Deluxe with "shorty" Pearl handle.
Blade: Shark Super Platinum (Yellow Wrapper) 2nd use.
Soap: MWF
Brush: Stirling 2-Band synthetic.
Rinse plus homemade WH Lemongrass/TTO Splash.
AS: Ogallala Sage and Cedar.

10/10.
This soap is a weird one for me. Always foamy with hard water at my location. Didn't want to change soaps midway so I kept loading the brush as I face lathered. Created an almost creamy consistency but slick as snot!! Could not feel the blade as it was mowing a 4 day beard. Three passes (WTG/XTGx2) and no discomfort!!!

Soap - The Club 'Signature'
Brush - BC Silvertip Plissoft
Razor - Karve Brass C
Blade - Treet Platinum (1)
Post - Thayer's Unscented WH
A/S - Swiss Pitralon
Balm - Baume.be

Rating - 9/10

Third straight razor shave:

Razor - Ralf Aust 5/8”
Brush - Plisson HMW Horn Handle #12
Soap - Mikes Barbershop
AS - Thayers WH
Balm - Nivea Sensitive

Two pass WTG & XTG. Much better result than last time. Face is very smooth. Neck not so much. Did a bit left handed this time too. No blood. Very slight irritation on neck and chin.

A few take aways. It is a very long blade. You don’t need to use all the blade all of the time. Learning to use the left hand is a must. Without the left Hand it is impossible to get everywhere you need to go at the angle required. Freshen up lather often. Adding water to shaved sections and letting it drip down helps keep things from drying out.

6/10.

I've been working through a sample of Panna Crema Blu. Lather is fine but I'm not a fan of the scent. Used it today with a Maggards SHD fan brush and a Raw RS10 with a Gillette Green (3). Not a great shave. Not sure why. 7.5/10.
