What's new

What did I find?

Got this for $1. I liked the bowl and didn't realize that the soap in it was unused. What is it, should I restore the bowl with new soaps, could I use this soap, or should I leave it as a collection piece?

Those usually go for alot of money on ebay. Yardley is an incredible shave soap. Use it and and enjoy it.. Do not let it go to waste , save the bowl when you are done with the oap..

I have been reading around about Yardley shave soap and they are being sold for $100? Is this the same stuff?

I believe the OP was just messing with us about replacing this desirable vintage soap and finding a way to brag about purchasing it for $1. Well played Rob341, you earned that right with this grab!

I really bought it not knowing what it was, but yes now that I know what i have I guess I will brag just a little!

I still dream of finding vintage Yardley shaving soap.... that should answer your question if you should use it or not.

If you still choose not too, please cut off a piece and send it to me lol

I'll give you 30 for it. ;-) enjoy your great find sir. Welcome to the Yardley club. I hope you don't fall in love with it because going from a $1 find to a "I have to pay over $50 or one?" in same condition can be scary.

Geez... I had no idea that the vintage ones were worth any $$$. I saw one at a local antiques shop for $6.50. It's sandalwood and is basically in new condition with no box, only the wooden bowl and soap. I looked at the date on it and it was from 1978 or 79.

I'll be going back tomorrow to purchase!

Not all are worth that much money. Yardley is the best vintage soaps around. Some would argue (myself included) that would say its the best soap period.
