What's new

what a horrible birthday...

at the end of my shift this morning we got a late call and i ended up feeling way sick and vomited. then i kept vomiting. and it just got worse and worse. the one downside is i had to finish work cus you can't just stop halfway to a hospital transporting a patient. so i transported the patient and ended up vomiting while giving my report to the nurse. then i got back to our station and vomited. i finally left and ended up having to pull over on the highway to vomit. which in turn leaded to an officer pulling up behind me. luckily he saw who i worked for because he thought i was a drunk driver at first... i then ended up going to a quick care and luckily the RN there helped me out and the doc helped me out considerately. so now i'm sitting in bed. wishing i was not sick on my birthday... planned on going to Truefitt and hill to get a shave... looks like i'll have to wait. but things could be worse... there is always somethin worse out there. ... sorry bout the rant. but its not the greatest birthday haha.

Happy birthday Mike! Sorry it didn't turn out the way you wanted it to. You win some, you lose some, but always keep your chin up. You'll get the T&H shave just as soon as you get better.

Michael,

Sorry to hear you were not feeling well on your birthday.

You just need to celebrate a day or two later.

I would have taken advantage of the situation and had a White Castle crave case, under the theory, everything hurts right now, so the marginal increase in pain would be negligible compared to eating Sliders when feeling fine.:thumbup:

Sorry to hear your birthday was not as expected.

Once your feeling well, go out with some friends and double the amount of drinks! Each round = one for your birthday, one for keeping your headup when the universe throws you a curveball!

Sorry to hear that! So did you get the bonus points for making the patient vomit as well? Or was the patient vomiting which made you vomit in the first place?

In the past five years, I have yet to vomit in the back of an ambulance, but I swear on those hot summer days, twisting down back country roads, transporting patients who I swear haven't bathed a day in their life, it's by the grace of God that I don't.

Stay hydrated and get lots of rest. Hope you feel better,
CCM

Oh, haha forgot, my remedy. A chug of Pepto, a cold glass of Pedialite and that keeps me from throwing up any more. You still need the rest but, bad thing is, all of it stays in your stomach, since you aren't throwing it up, you feel pretty bloated but, when you feel better, you can expel it lol. That works for me, the wife and the kids when we have the stomach flu.

Hey Boss,

Thanks for your faithful service in the EMS world and through the end of your shift. I know that you "can't" quit in the middle of a shift but there are many who would have just sat on the sidelines.

Get some rest and plenty of water and you'll be back on your feet soon! :thumbup1:

Bummer dude. I don't think I've ever seen the word "vomit" so many times in one paragraph, so hey, you accomplished SOMETHING on your birthday!
