Wanting help with ties

Wanting two, three ties for fall. Pretty well covered with blues and reds. Got a nice pink one, no greens to speak of, and you can imagine I have the grey and blue suits, solids and chalk stripes and pin stripes, and also a couple of black. White shirts mostly, then various blue solids (french blue included) and a pink solid and pink checked Burberry.

Yellow ties, I have a gold paisley and a yellow paisley Talbott BOC and then a yellow/goldish hue backgound with some medium purple stripes spaced out say every two inches with a thin black border. One Andrews tie I got is yellow with light grey polka dots. So I think I need a yellow or yellow gold maybe in either a pindot or something. Suggestions?

Then, what other color tie would you suggest for fall/winter? FIHTies has a ecru one, and I was thinking something outside the box, but not garish. Bronze, pewter, something between olive green and hunter green?

Shopped the end-of-summer sales and picked up four ties, so I'd like to try to find some bargains rather than paying full price for say a Talbott. Tiebar.com works I think but suggestions on what to get there would be appreciated. Feel free to post links or PM me.

Regimentals, not in the traditional or British sense. Some striped ties, one in yellow as described, a blue and a red, but more than half are paisleys and then geometric. Short on grenadines.

Try something with a bit more texture. I've got a brown herringbone tie (Sazzari I think), it's silk, but the weave is rough, so it looks more like wool than silk. I'm a fan of dark browns with charcoal suits. I've got the same tie in a medium gray with a similar texture would be good as well. It plays well with any pinstripe/chalkstripe. I've also got a geometric Ike Behar in Gold that plays a little with brown and blue, it looks great with a blue suit in the fall and winter. I've never had much luck with greens myself, I've got one but it doesn't get a ton of neck time.

NRK, links? That Behar sounds nice, but these ties I want are just some fun money laying in paypal

Yellow has been problematical for me for some reason. I have one blue pindot tie, that is it and that was from FIHTies.com - Jonathan. I bought about 4 ties recently and asked wife to cull a few from my closet. She took out six and said sell them and I have all but one, and use the money to buy a yellow one and then something I don't have. I spent some of the money and have like $70 or so to play with for two ties, so that is why I mentioned Tiebar. Hansens I have seen before but sometimes, I can score a Talbott locally half price.

I think the first polo would be great for Fall. Nice earthy tones and fabric. I would wear something like that Liberty of London one for the Spring.

That is a really toned down liberty, the spring ones look amazingly like vewing a field of wildflowers from a helicopter

so what's the deal with Liberty of London? I thrifted a couple of their ties and saw that they were made for Target at some point, but i've never actually seen them for sale there. I checked their website and was surprised to see how expensive their ties were. both of mine are floral patterned and would be most appropriate for the Spring - do they make anything else besides floral patterned ties?

Liberty Of London is a department store in London, they developed from a print house way back in the day and are famous for their floral prints. They have full mens and women's wear lines as well as a home line, and they still produce fabrics. They are fairly high-end (along the lines of a Bergdorf Goodman's or Barney's). Like a few other higer end brands they have done diffusion lines with Target (Alexender McQueen and Rodarte leap to mind).

Their woman's ware line was quite good last winter and got a lot of press.

I like C Reed's recommendations above. The fall is a great time to wear ties of different textures, as well as different colors, than you would in other seasons. That wool glen plaid by Ralph Lauren is quite nice.

On the pricier end, you can find some really sharp ties by Alexander Olch. I own two ties by that maker and they're very well made. Excellent quality!

I really like this one.

I have the same basic suits and shirts as you, and someone (Nordstrom salesclerk) talked me into trying an orange background tie. I love it. Just picked up another. Orange really looks great on blue shirts, with grey or blue suits. I wouldn't have come up with it myself, but what a nice addition.

This really depends on your skin tone. I have blue eyes, light hair and pale skin, look great in blues, greens, and even reds but orange makes my skin look red.
