Vison problem

Out of nowhere, the TTO knob on my Vision has completely frozen and will not turn. The silo doors are open, and the razor is unusable. I tried taking the razor apart, but to no avail. Has anybody had this happen before, and does anybody know what to do about it?

Edit: sorry for the typo in the subject heading. I wish I could edit it.

That sucks, man. How long have you had it? This sort of thing is what has kept me from springing for one. Have you been field-stripping it as recommended?

My first suggestion would be to soak it in some hot water. If that doesn't do the trick, some light oil might be required to get it unstuck.

I've had it for over four years; I bought it from Joel on SMF, back before he created this site. I've never had a problem with it until now. I hardly ever use it, but I make sure to remove the center stem periodically and use Sterol to keep it lubed. I have removed the knob before, as well, but not as often as the stem. I have not done a full "field stripping" before. I just took the whole thing apart last night and can see it needs a good cleaning in some parts, but none of this appears to affect the TTO knob. It's weird how it happened, too. It wasn't showing any signs of impending problems, like getting progressively harder to turn. One day it was fine, the next day, boom - completely frozen.

I'll try soaking it. It's pretty lubed already with the Sterol. In fact, my hands got rather oily trying to work with it, so it's well coated. I could try some other kind of lube, though, I guess.

Try this - go back to "edit" the original post, then click the "advanced" button - this should let you edit the heading.

Thanks. That did the trick.

Edit: well, I thought it did the trick. For some reason, it's changed the subject heading when I'm in the thread, but in the index, it hasn't changed any. Oh well, no big deal.
