Vision Anyone?

Waited too long to order a Vision and now everyone is sold out. I've seen one or two at $169 on Amazon, but I'm not going to pay that when West Coast Shaving and BullGoose has 'em for a normal price of $110. I've been told that the Merkur factory is on vacation and dealer orders will not be filled for 2 to 4 weeks. I just didn't want to wait that long, but I may have to. Does anyone know of a dealer that has a new Vision for a reasonable price?

Not much better than what you found it for already. It does qualify for free shipping though. Canadian based company. Anyways, possibly another option, but still expensive.

How much do you know about the Vision? It is widely regarded as inferior to the cheaper Merkur Futur and has some quirks as far as prone to break easily and, if you have not tried it yet, maybe just rethink your purchase decision in favor of a different razor?

I don't know of a place to buy, but I've been happy with my Vision. I bought it used for a fair bit less than a new one. Keep an eye on BST - there's nothing wrong with going used. It might even be a little better since the owner can tell you if it has any problems.

There's that, and the fact that it is a mammoth razor. I think of the Vision as a clown razor, too large to be useful. I would much rather have a nimble Tech (or other 3 piece) rather than the monster that is the Vision.

Seriously, if you are spending $110 on the Vision (which has known quality control issues) why not spend a few more dollars and get the Feather All Stainless instead?

Does anyone know of a dealer that has a new Vision for a reasonable price?

I gave mine away to another member a couple of years back. I thought mine was a completely underwhelming razor in every respect, and not at all worth the money I paid. I couldn't see charging anyone money for it.

Food for thought before you buy. High price does not equal high quality.
