VDH revisited

A few months ago I bought an Arko stick and a Euro Palmolive stick. I had been using VDH Deluxe and Bigelow cream, but once I tried the sticks I rarely found a reason to use the Bigelow, and had not touched the VDH at all.

Last night I decided to introduce my FS brush (also acquired a few months ago) to the VDH puck. I had forgotten how much "cushion" VDH provides. It's a different feel on my face compared to the sticks, but I had a pleasant shave with little trouble other than my less than perfect technique. It will definitely make its way back into my rotation, and will continue to hinder any interest I may have in trying that other low cost, easily available shaving soap.

VDH is good stuff, especially considering the price. Who cares if it doesn't have a foofoo french whorehouse gucci-faberge-dior smell? I can put some smellum on my face when I am done shaving. Shaving soap is for shaving, not for smelling. VDH does everything I require of a shave soap.

I haven't used VDH for awhile so I broke it out this morning to use with a Mach 3 It really is a very, very good soap.

I like the VDH Select soap. I have not tried the Glycerin soap. They don't have that soap in my area.

I ordered from Bullgoose. I suppose it could be found a bit cheaper on the net somewhere else, but I always get great service and speedy delivery from Bullgoose.

I know that you live in Canada, but Rite Aid's website (www.riteaid.com) sells the different VDH shaving soaps. I think there is a small amount (like $200 or so) that you can have shipped from the States to Canada every 30 days without paying Canadian duties and taxes. I know as a US resident, I can have $200 US a month shipped from foreign countries (including Canada) free of duty and tax. I haven't pushed that limit, though -- my foreign orders total less than $50 most months.

That is correct. I called Customs and they said if I am getting supplies from the USA I would pay 13% tax like we pay locally if the products are of USA/North American origin. If it's produced anywhere else in the world they add more tax to your item.

Hell yeah! I can't fathom paying $26 for an AOS puck when VDH is just $2 and does a very nice job. VDH reminds me of the original Classic Shaving hypoallergenic, which was my favorite.

I too revisited VDH. When I first tried VDH I liked the performance but the smell was a little bit too much for me. I gave it another whirl and it is now in the rotation for good!

Melt it down, add a few squirts of EO Lavender, superb soap!

Some internet providers such as (http://www.maharajashave.com/store/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=2) carry it. It can also be found on the Bay or in UK chemists shops.

VDH is one of my favorites....Perhaps THE favorite. I am never without it.
