Typhoon Semi Auto 12ga Build. What would you add?

What would you add to this to make it a proper semi auto 12ga?

Only thing I can think of is a light. And maybe a sling.
Maybe some type of thing that holds the 2 additional mags? IDK.

Ahhh come on! We all like to spend each other’s money. What you putting on it?

Let’s say it’s the year 3067 and zombies is a real thing. This is the only shotgun you have and you have access to 10,000,000 accessories.

Well? You just gonna go Willy nilly in to the breach with a single 5 found mag and the rest in your pockets?

Even if its strictly "fantasy", what's your usage scenario?

Home defense/civil unrest- I'd add a TLR or Olight on the forend and a 3 mag pouch. Maybe a red dot (I like the Romeo 5 on a NA Defense qd base).Nothing more on the gun, it just gets heavier & more unweildy.

is it threaded for chokes? If so, something like the Dead Coyote to keep your pattern tighter, farther out. You'd have to take it out for slugs, but that's part of defining that usage scenario.😉

Zombie apocalypse? No shotty, that's an AK with a duffle bag full of Magpul gen 3 30 rounders and a bazillion cases of 123 grain, nicely expanding, JSPs.

Do slug velocities break the sound barrier? Sabots? :)

I'm sure there will be some crack Rob but there are so many variables at play its tough to call. I took a peek at a Federals Tru Ball slug and it is runnning 1300FPS so DA would have an effect on how bad the sonic boom was. Get into the absolute screamers (1700FPS and up) and you'll muffle the explosion but the the crack is gonna be loud!

I have a crate of Hornady SST 12 gauge slugs. I believe the advertised muzzle velocity is 2000 fps. They aren't good in a smooth bore, though. I shot a couple of dozen out of a Mossberg 590. At 25-30 yards, they hit the plate sideways.

OK, this would be a really cool addition!

I want it for home defense, maybe keep it in the car every now and then. Have fun with it at the range. Just wanna spruce it up so it’s not so plain looking.

That did a fantastic job muffling the sound! But 1,000 bucks!? I’ll add it to the wish list.

A light, red dot sight, silencer, mag pouches.

I’ve just added about 50lbs to the shotgun lol

I figger both options will kill at both ends!

FWIW/YMMV

1. A sling- a sling on a long gun is like a holster for a pistol.
A. I would go 2 point to spread out the weight a bit taking cues from how many ARs are slug these days.

2. If it really is for Home defense, I would put a light on it

3. I like my long guns as light and as handy as possible consistent with the mission so I would take a hard pass on attaching mags to the gun with the possible exception of a mag pouch on the outboard of the stock.

4. I would figure out the longest shot I would likely have to take and being highly inclined to load it with 8 of 9 pellet federal Flite Control Buck. At those loadings are minute of man ( 10inch) accurate out to 20-30 yards in virtually every shotgun I have every seen it fired in to include a rattle can 18.5 inch no choke at all Mossberg 500.

5. If my shot was inside a 7 yard window, I might inclined to load it with the cheapest buck I could find so long as when patterned/tested with my gun, it would stay on the 10 inch standard at the distance fired.

6. After I figured out the ammo, light and sling, I would think about an RDS. Given the recoil impulse many shotguns, Holosun, Aimpoint and Trijicon would be my starting points as most other brands with the possible exception of SIG, Leupold and Steiner are decidedly hobby grade v bet your life grade.

Specs say; "1.4 inch groups at 50 yards." Not bad at all! :)
