What if you had $500.00 to spend of Shaving Stuff how would you spend?

Sticking strictly to the question as posed: ‘What if you had $500.00 to spend of (on) Shaving Stuff how would you spend (it)?’

A visit to The Brushworks (Simpson Shaving Brushes) in the Isle of Man to discuss the creation of some bespoke Simpson Wee Scot brushes in Super Badger with handles in gray marble, Italian marble, liquid gold or blue cobalt.

A left-handed kamisori; preferably an Iwasaki Tamahagane ($500 would be only a down payment…) although I have never seen a left-handed ITK advertised.

A NOS Leslie razor and lawnmower stropper.

id pay one of these soap companies to make me a really good HARD tallow soap with no fragrance. Just SOAP.

If that was not doable, id go hunt down a british aristocrat in case and shipper.

Exactly what I have right now so all the items listed in the post linked below. Oops, looks like I went a few hundred over budget though not as much as most.🙂

$500... hmmmmmmmm.... EDIT; $500 is a lot of money to me especially needing to live my life off US Disability and keeping to the shaving things theme, i also forgot brushes...

I would look for and get a birth year razor, most likely a Gillette. Only brand possibly that has a way to get the year they were made. (I started looking already)

Another Captain's Choice Bowl and 1 or 2 ceramic type bowls.

Different aftershaves and balms. 1 balm, a Stirling is great but getting/having more "choices" would be nice. But no flowery or woodsy type ones.... hahaha... Stirling Soap Co has a bunch of scents and products i like so a bunch of their products would be purchased.

A shavette the flea market one i had did its job well. But a better looking shavette would be the one to get if there is enough money left. If not another flea market type will be good for me....

Another brush, most likely synthetic... i am a lazy person and currently living with family in their home. My shave times are decent/good but a shower and shave time of up to 2 hours prevents me (i prevent myself) from shaving everyday.... hahaha

Looks like the US gov’t just gave me $500. How so? Well, my monthly social security cost of living increase is a pathetic $41 more/month. 41 x 12 = $492. However, this can’t go towards saving luxuries as I expect my rent will increase by twice that, and food will continue to go up…. ☹️

What is your birth year? 1973? So a T(1 to 4) or for 1974 a U date code. You could get a Super Adjustable 109 or 84, Super Speed black handle or a Tech. All solid choices!

I am “good” on shaving gear. I have over 100 razors, stupid amounts of blades and other consumables.

If I had $500 in “funny money” to spend on shaving gear, I would continue buying vintage gear as I find it at garage/estate sales, antique stores, flea markets…

I look for razors, banks, Bakelite shaving soap bowls…

As far as new gear… I am looking forward to the release of the brass version of the TRC razor. I plan on buying that when it comes out.
