TWSBI 540 Where have you gone!

So, yesterday I made this huge elaborate wishlist for my mother-in-law at Goulet Pens. The #1 thing on the list I wanted was a Black TWSBI 540 EF. Today I saw that the 540 line was completely gone except for an Orange EF. THEN a little while later I found out my wonderful M-i-L placed an order. I'm pretty sure there isn't a 540 in the order. :(

Whatever shall I do?! :crying:

Be grateful for whatever you receive of course and remember it is not the gift but the spirit in which it is given.

TWSBI is no longer producing the Diamond 540. They are developing they 580, but there is no set release date as of yet.

The 580 will be out in mid-late January. Just in clear, to start, then colors to follow.

Do you know if it will come with Jelly Beans lol, lol as i understand it im not the only person interested anymore,... and others are asking for them too now

man Brians got me so afraid to buy a TWISBI, i should have tried Connies out when i was there as she had one lol, like the NIBs version of arko or the VEG this pen is becoming

I'm just a grumpy old man !!!

I've owned a TWSBI 540. It was nice except for one major problem. It flooded all the time and made a mess everywhere.
I wouldn't be too upset. They needed a lot of improvement. Maybe they'll have the problems beat with the new model.
Maybe they won't.

What do you mean by flooded, out of curiosity?

Hah! Thank you all for your loving... advice?

I'm sure I will love whatever she's purchased for me. I needed to make it easy on her, so I built a giant wishlist from which she could pick and choose (at Goulet Pens). Now all I can do is wait patiently for Christmas Day!

The feed flooded and ink leaked out of the nib.
I'd open it up and have ink all over.
Acutally it was quite handy that the pen was clear. You could see the problem.
Speedy took it back for service then decided I would need a new one.

Their customer service is very good that's for sure.

I really like the way my 540 writes. They do have great customer service. I just hate the way they crack . To date they have replaced the nib grip, barrel, cap, and I will contact them again shortly for the nib grip again.
