Two new soaps to try and only 1 face.

I just received a Col. Conks Bay Rum/Amber soap puck and some Proraso Blue cream. I'm excited to try both but can't choose. Maybe I'll shave have my face with one and the switch for the other half. That should be a good test

Has anyone here tried either and what did you think?

When I find myself in this predicament, I use the one i think i will like less on the first pass, then the other on the second or third... yeah, it's extra work to clean the brush and start over, but screw it! lol

Go with the scent and try the Col Conk today.

Conk's Bay Rum is one of my favorites - it gives me a better lather and has a nicer scent than all but a few other soaps, plus it was only $3.50 for a decent-sized puck from www.razorbladesandmore.com and comes in a plastic container. When you factor in value, it's the best all-around soap on the market in my opinion.

I got some Joshua Tree bay rum lime soap that was thin and just lousy. I though I was doing something wrong... good to know its not just me.

eBay vendors Sundance or Joshua Tree (both are extremely thin and just lousy)

Well I tried out the Conk first and I have to say it did a very nice job. Easy to get a good lather, very slick, and provided a decent amount of protection. I wasn't big on the scent but is was pretty mild and really an issue. It will definitely be in my rotation with my other go to soap, I coloniali mango.

Today I used the Proraso and it also performed well. If I had to choose one I would probably go with the Col. Conks because of the way my skin feels after the shave but both have found a permanent home in my shave den. I'm definitely a fan of the glycerin based soaps as the tallow based soaps all seem to irritate my skin a bit and the lather is too airy (at least when I do it).
