Ive been wet shaving for some time now and have a very very modest shave den (i have one or two products on the go until theyre gone then purchase another - that i am completely ilprepared for the shaving apocalypse). Slightly out of character, I purchased a puck of trumpers limes soap over 3 years ago and just never got around to trying it because I didn't have a bowl that fit the puck. My slight OCD prevented me from using it until that happened. Nevertheless, I had a used wooden bowl from a previous shave soap that was too small. I figured if I rolled the outer edge of the soap on the counter top it would reduce the diameter enough to fit the bowl. That's what I did.
I am so glad I did that. I have to say that the trumpers soap lathers so so well. Even using my floppy kent brush it bursts into lather sufficient for me to face lather. I always face lather. Needless to say for the past two weeks I have had some damn fine shaves with this soap. I find it slick, cushioning, and produces stable lather for at least 3 passes.
The scent is very faint, which can be a good thing. I find the scent to be fresh, soft, yet masculine without a harsh or over powering smell. Often products can smell too fake. This is not one of them. I have fairly sensitive skin and having to wear a shirt and tie at work my neck can develop red bumps if a shave is rough. The performance of this soap has helped me avoid discomfort and red bumps on my neck. I have to say I really enjoy it.
I will post some pictures of my den in due course but wanted to drop a note about my experience with this soap as I know some havent enjoyed the trumpers line as much as I have.
Many thanks,
P
