I will be heading to the Triangle Pen Show again this year here in Raleigh on June 6-9th. Is there anyone else here on B&B heading that way? It would be cool with a face to face.

This will be my second pen show ever and I cannot wait for it. I might try to find me a good restored Parker 51 and maybe an Schaeffer of some sort. There will probably other things that will strike my fancy as well. I will also try to have my Montblanc 146 worked on by a nib meister to get it working better.

The Triangle Pen Show is in one week. I am really getting excited. Anyone else going? I am planning to be there on Friday the 7th in the afternoon and probably Saturday morning as well.

Is your wallet ready? What are you looking to get? Have fun!
I've been working on setting a budget with my dear wife. She will be going as well. We will not set a huge budget though. She will probably look for another Franklin Christoph. She is a big fan of theirs and then being local.

For me I'll get my mb 146 reground. For pens I'm not having any specific ones but if I get a good parker 51 since I do not own one. Now I do like Sheaffers so I would not be surprised if you find one of those in my pen case either. Not looking for super expensive pens just great vintage ones.

Any recommendations to look for?

Oh yes I'll have fun. I'm taking Friday afternoon off and I'll be back on Saturday

Triangle Pen Show opened this morning, but that is just for exhibitors and weekenders. Tomorrow at 1 pm the public show opens and I will be there.

My dear wife determined that she is not going so I will be by myself. Hmm not sure that that is a place I should be non-monitored at.

Well? Hope it was a success.

I need to do a post regarding my Triangle Pen show attendance. I did go on Friday afternoon. I was there when it opened to the public at 1pm. I had a modest budget on this and I also wanted to pick up something for my friend that has his birthday coming up in a couple of weeks. Since I was there on Friday afternoon the number of people that was there was not bad. Of course when you go to a pen show it is a bit of an over load.

I did have somewhat of a list with me of pens that I was interested in and I did get a couple of those, but most of what I got was on a whim and what spoke to me. I do not have pictures of most of my purchases, but I will take some in future posts, but I will tell you what I got.

For my friend's birthday I got a black Parker 45 GT Medium nib and a bottle of Robert Oster Crocodile Green. I hope he will like it. I bought two bottles of inks for my dear wife who did not join me in that show. I got Franklin-Christoph Bronze Age and Robert Oster Marine. I got myself Robert Oster Detox. I have not used Robert Oster before so it is a new ink manufacturer for me.

Pens that I got was a Parker 21, Parker 51 Aeromatic, EsterBrook LJ in Foliage Green M nib (about 1949-1952) and lastly a Tibadi Infrangible Deluxe F. It "spoke" to me when I walked by and looked at the case below. the Tibaldi is the one marked with an arrow. I need to take some better pictures of it.

I do have a couple of pictures of the Esterbrook as well since I have it with me today to work.

The Esterbrook is a lever filler. The internal sac has been replaced by the seller so it should be good to go for a good while. It writes very well.

I did get my MB 146 reground into a small italic cursive nib and I like it a heck of a lot more now than what it was. I will have to show you a writing sample at some point with it. Now it is an awesome writer.

I ended up only going on Friday afternoon since I accomplished all that I set out to do and my budget was completely spent. It was a great event and just as last year the organizers did a good job. I can highly recommend it if you are in the area to attend next year's event.

Well Gawlie. I live in Smithfield, not far at all if you are familiar. I would have attended... had I known and not been working all weekend. Unfortunately, I probably would have imposed a very strict budget of entry fee + $20 for the show. I took my daughter to Charleston that next week, and she loves spending daddy's money lol.

Goodness we are like 30 min from each other. I'm in Wendell. Yeah you do have to put a strict budget going to those shows so you do not get into trouble. It is very easily done. It is cool to know they're is a fellow B&B member close by. 😊
