Travel brush????

OK guys, I just don't get it. Why the need for a travel brush?

I simply take one of my regular brushes, throw it in a TP tube to protect the bristles, and tuck it away in my dopp kit for travel.

I hear some guys saying how they'd like to get a small brush for travelling, but c'mon...is the difference between a 120mm long brush and one that is say 80mm long really going to make your suitcase any smaller?

I say-bring a brush you like to use with you (OK, maybe you'd best leave your Pli$$on brush at home...).

Or if it's simply justification for yet another brush, then by all means ignore this post and continue on, as that is a noble endeavor!

I have tried several and currently use an Omega synthetic. The one that I have comes in a plastic tube that provides perfect protection.

I use my Simpson Major every other day in rotation with my B&B 08 brush it just so happens to be a travel brush as well.

I just bought a new Plisson Grey Badger Nickel travel brush. The funny thing is that I rarely travel so it must have just been my SBAD. It's a really sweet brush, maybe I should plan a vacation.

I agree. I have the C&E travel brush (which is great), but it provides no real advantage over my other brushes. I do like small brushes though (Rooney size 1) so YMMV.

This is similar to what I do.. But instead of a TP tube I went to a local drug store and got an empty pill bottle that was big enough for the brush to fit in, took it home and drilled a few holes in the top and bottom and "PRESTO" instant travel container!

Pill bottle trick works great. I have a large bottle that will fit a Polo 10, how's that for a travel brush

I do have a few travel models though, Simpsons Case, Major, and Vulfix Turnback. Those are fine brushes as they take up small space in the dopp. Of the three, the Vulfix is actually my favorite to carry when I'm away from home.

Pill bottle trick works great.

+1 I like small brushes anyway, so my home brush goes in a 1½" x 4" pill bottle and it's ready to travel. That may even be smaller than a lot of 'travel' brushes.

Having a brush when you travel is a really nice thing. I bought the DOVO 19mm that comes in a stainless steel holder. Its a bit up there in cost, $89.00, but the thing is build like a tank. When its all broken down and in its tube you can't hurt the thing in any way. A nice little brush that will last for several lifetimes.

I think that the idea of putting one of your regular brushes in a tube for travel is perfectly fine. On the other hand, I always travel with the conviction that this is the trip when they're going to lose my checked luggage forever. I got a great deal on a little C&E travel brush. It works great, but I won't feel as wounded if it disappears as I would if I lost one of my regular brushes.

I picked up a pretty little Trumper's travel brush in faux ivory. It is best badger. I think it is pretty nice, got it half off. Has anyone ever used one of these? Oh yeah, I guess the reason for these is because they are fun. I picked up a travel tube of trumper's sandalwood too. More collecting? More gear? I guess that's why.

I am new to DE shaving but have a Kent BK4 and a Wee Scot. Minimizing the amount of crap I travel with is important to me, so I intend to travel exclusively with the Wee.

That said, I use the Wee Scot 4x as much as the BK4 in my daily shaving.
