It’s that day of the week for a Torrey. Here is my American gem for the week

Back to the old wedge today. Watched some stropping videos and proceeded with a much lighter hand through two diamond-sprayed bench strops, then canvas and leather hanging. Was a pretty good shave.

Great shave from this razor this morning. The little 5/8” French point fairly sailed around my face leaving BBS skin in its wake.

I recently found and restored a JR Torrey straight.

Added cheap (black plastic) scales to it, to get it going.

Restored it nicely, but missed a high spot in the spine...on both sides.

Took it back to the stones, corrected the spine, restored the bevel, and it is an absolute winner.

Sharp as all heck, and silent!

Gonna make some new scales for it soon. It deserves better than some cheap “Made in China” plastic scales.

Had quite a bit of growth after yesterday's lather catcher DFS. Almost reached for the heavier wedges but decided to give the little Torrey a try. I must say that, despite it's more diminutive nature, it most certainly got the job done. BBS all over.
