What's new

Top 5 Essential Blades.

1. Astra SP
2. Gillette Silver Blue
3. Iridium
4 Perma Sharp
5. Personna "Super" blue wrapper, US made.
6-10. Any other St Pete Russia made Gillette label....
I'd be happy with any of the above...

To many blades i havent tried yet to give 5 right now but to date my top 3 are.
1. 7 oclock yellow
2. treet
3 7 oclock black.

I hope your going to compile a list in order and number of votes each blade gets at some point.

1. Astra SP
2. Personna Red
3. Feather

Everything else I have tried hasn't come close. That being said, once my 100 pack of Astra is gone, I'll be trying some new blades.

I can offer the two that feel best to me and work without irritating my skin while delivering consistent DFSs.
Astra SP
Astra SS

Feather
GSB

That's it. It's not so much that I heavily favor GSB over the alternatives, but they're a great daily driver for me and readily available. I'm also a sucker for the attractive packaging.

No order:
Polsilver SI
Personna Med Prep
Treet Black Beauty
Treet DuraSharp
Funny, the blades that work best for me are some of the most and least expensive available.

1. Feather is the only blade I use now and it's always in my Old Type :)

These blades are good too

Astra Superior Platinum
Gillette yellow
Gillette green
Polsilver Super Iridium

I use these regularly, ranked by my (subjective) rating:

1. Feathers - sharp, smooth, extremely efficient, not too long lasting
2. Personna Platinum Chrome - smooth, sharp enough, very long lasting
3. Crystals - rough on first shave, smooth afterwards, medium long lasting

I tried several other blades (Astras, Polsilvers, Voshkod, Treet, Wilkinson Swords, others that I forget) but I always come back to the ones above.
