Took a chance on one of those eBay auctions that has one crappy picture and the description as "an old Gillette razor"
Could tell from the picture it was a cased single ring and probably tarnished silver, although half of the handle was not visible in the picture.
No one else bid on it and I got it cheap even with the shipping from the UK to Canada.
When it arrived I was happy to see that all the teeth were straight, it was in good condition and it was tarnished silver, the case was in fairly good shape although the closing strap was broken off and missing
The nice surprise... look closely you can see the G in D hallmark on the right side
Close up
After a cleaning, a soak in Scrubbin Bubbles, a baking soda/tin foil bath and a light polish with Flitz and a microfiber cloth...
Surprise number 2..it is almost mint!!
The cap is pretty well like a mirror
It has no brassing anywhere on the razor
It is serial number M604546 made in 1920 and I assume made for export
Sometimes its worth taking a chance with an eBay auction, Im glad I bid on this one
Thanks for looking
