TOBS Lemon Lime

I just received a new tub of TOBS Lemon Lime and do not gind it very limey at all? It is also not as fluffy or silky as the other two tubs of Almond and Avacado, I find it to be a harder cream with a yellow tint to it while the almond and Avacado are pure white, silky and moist.

Can anyone confirm that the lemon lime is not limey at all as well as the colour and consistency.

I am wondering of I received an old or bad tub?

It is less of a true lime scent, and not quite "lemony" either...there's a lot of different citrus notes to it, that's for sure. If you were expecting true lime...sorry. I know I was, and I was disappointed at first, but after shaving with it for a while, I grew to really like the scent.

As to the consistancy, none of my TOBS creams have ever been like the others - Avocado was a tad thicker and firmer than the others, the Rose was neither hard nor soft, and less "chunky" than the Avocado, and the Lemon Lime was had a sort of separation to it that the others didn't...Yours may be drier and/or older, as the LL is not one of the top sellers, but there's probably nothing fundamentally WRONG with it. You can always stir it up...that'll smoothe it out, but it will probably become runnier (mine went from firm to "it'll move if I tilt it" consistancy). It still lathers and performs exactly the same though. Hope that helps.

Mine has become that "move if I tilt it consistency" that Golden mentioned. It used to be thicker but I have stirred/refrigerated it twice now and it's gotten very loose. Great Cream though. I love the way it smells with the Lemon/Lime on a woodsy base.

Woody...yeah, that's it. Good call.

I thought I royally F'd up all of my TOBS creams by stirring them, because they all got a lot "looser", but I've noticed that they do tend to stabilize again eventually. Refrigeration does help set them again, however.

If I have to pick between lemon and lime, I pick lemon. Yes, it yellow-ish. It performs as well as any other TOBS cream I tried.

Agree with the others.
Not a true Limes scent, more lemon/lime/cedar/citrus.
Mine is also pretty firm. I'll have to try the stirring suggested.

It shaves great though. I like it very much.

I get a general citrus impression, but nothing specific. It's not a bad smell, but I prefer other limes and citrus-y scents like Trumpers. Or Wesley and Scott lime! If you like lime shave creams, that is what you want. Get that from Shaving Essentials.

I knew I could count on you guys for a quick response. I am ok with the scent and it lathers just as good as the the almond and avacado, it just was not the Lime scent I was expecting. The consistency also through me off as well so I was not so sure it was suppose to be that way, looks drier etc. I will triy and stir it up and refigerate if necessary and see if that help but really, it still is an awesome cream. I am still a newbie, just started DE sahving a couple of weeks ago so there is a lot to learn.

I received a couple of samples from Alfred at Fendrihan and the Black Ice smells amazing. Rich clean Anise scent smells good enough to eat. I think I will have to give a try today. I also picked up some lime scented Booster as well and I love it. The scent is nice an limey and I love the cooling alcohol burn, it makes me want to keep putting it on every 10 minutes.

Thanks again guys.
