TOBS Grapefruit.did I get a bad tub?

Just wondering what folks' general experience is with this cream. I absolutely love the smell but notice that the consistency of the batch I have is very "hard" for lack of a better word. All of the other creams I have in my rotation are quite soft when I place a blob on my brush for bowl lathering. The TOBS Grapefruit is the opposite, almost the consistency of un-softened butter. It lathers up OK but doesn't get quite as thick and creamy as my other creams (including other TOBS creams). There seems to be lots of tiny bubbles in the lather and I don't feel it's as slick on my face as my others. Too bad because it's my absolutely favorite from a smell perspective.
Anyway hopefully some of the fine folks on the forum will know what I'm talking about... Please let me know what your experience has been with this cream and if maybe I just have a wonky batch that I might be able to return.

It sounds dehydrated. I had it and it had a "cream cheese" type consistently, i.e. a little bit harder but definitely moist. I once got a very dehydrated TOBS tub and so I just put a little water in it and mashed it up a little bit with a fork and no problems.

I've occasionally had TOBS tubs that were a little dehydrated. It never affected the quality of my lather. I simply added a little more water than usual while lathering-up.

I had a coconut TOBS tub that was really dry and not very pleasant to use. Tried rehydrating, but it just never felt like it should (like my other TOBS).

Thanks for the replies, guys. Next time it comes up in the rotation I'll try adding a little more water than usual and see if that helps.

My newly acquired tub is the exact opposite, so soft I'm thinking of hibernation. Scent is invigorating, and still produced nice lather, another keeper.

Just thought I'd throw in an update on how this all turned out. As per a recommendation from the chap that runs the store where I bought the cream I went to a "new-agey" drug store near my office and got a bottle of plain glycerine. A couple of tiny drops in my lathering bowl before adding the TOBS Grapefruit cream and I ended up with some beautiful thick, creamy, and slick lather. An absolute joy to shave with this morning! If you find yourself with a slightly dry batch of cream glycerine is definitely the way to go.

I just bought some today and will shave with it tomorrow. After seeing this thread I gave the tub a test and thought it could be dry but the lather came out nicely.
