Tierra Verde Shave Soaps

I can't find any reviews on these shave soaps. Has anyone tried them? Does the ingredient list look like it would produce a good quality lather?

Vanilla Patchouli Natural Shave Soap
Ingredients:
Olive Oil, Distilled Water, Coconut Oil, Organic Palm Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Castor, Dark Patchouli Essential Oil, Vanilla Oleo Resin, Kaolin Clay, Tussah Silk, Aloe Vera Juice

NO. This will NOT produce a good quality lather. Not for shaving, anyway.

The giveaway is that the 1st ingredient listed is olive oil. Every single olive-oil based soap I've tried -- and unfortunately, I've tried quite a few -- lathers practically not at all. What lather there is quickly breaks down & disappears. The soap will be slick for sure, and probably will be good for your skin. But I'd use it as a bath soap, not a shaving soap.

Do what you like, but ... you've been warned.

I found this thread by accident. I would like to throw my two cents in. I've been using Tierra Verde Soap for the last couple of years both as bath soap and a shaving soap and have been enjoying it. I love that it is a natural soap and not like what a lot of people call soap which is actually a detergent. The lather in the shaving soap is what I would classify as a creamy not the big bubbly stuff – which I prefer for my beard and skin.
