The Winter Beard

I got moves like Jagger
Not for me, it's not. I had a scruff on years ago and decided to chop it off in mid-Feb. Man, THAT was a cold end of winter!

I have to agree with you. Seems completely logical and consistent with my experience.

But I have heard tell it makes no difference.

When I get a hair cut during the winter my head feels noticeably colder.
Same is true when I shave during the winter.

It must provide some type of insulation, even if it's minimal.

I had a great beard during the summer once - grew it out for 6 months. The #1 question I got was "isn't that hot?".
Surprisingly it wasn't hot at all.

A beard is way warmer in the Winter time. When I worked Construction I stopped shaving in Oct first and didn't shave again until Easter.

I think it's a wind chill thing. Doesn't necessarily provide any insulation from the cold temperatures, but maybe from the wind? I live in the AZ, so I wouldn't really know.

I'm gonna give my razors a break this winter. I'll be shaving the cheek and neck lines though.

I am seriously debating the same.

Why give the razors a break just because you're growing a beard. Grow the beard and shave your head, then you and your razors will both be happy...
