What's new

The New Yaqi PAGODA MIRABILIS Anyone?

Was browsing through Aliexpress and saw this new offering from Yaqi staring at me. The Yaqi PAGODA MIRABILIS in stainless steel. It looks like a really interesting Razor. At first I thought it was like a Darwin Deluxe on a diet but later saw Subie Shaves taking the Razor for a spin and he mentioned that it was a tribute to the 1935 Lama Italia Mirabilia. Here's the link to the Video.

Added a few pics as well.Let me know what you guys think about the Razor and its design.

Looks pretty cool.

But, I have seen him done quite alot of other razor reviews, this seems very mild in comparison, doesn't it? He throw it around his head and face, seems to go over the same spot 4 times at every pass. Not something I usually see him do.

I might be wrong. Did anyone else get the same feeling after watching this? Only one real way to check ofcourse... But it won't be me doing the checking. 🤪

You're actually right Shaun, I did notice the buffing myself. It seems to be Yaqi's new direction. After releasing their iconic top aggressive slant and the Knights Helmet, most of their razors are beginning to border n mil to mid aggression which I'm cool with as long as they are efficient. Not a fan of touch ups and buffing personally but you picked that out well buddy, spot on with Subieshaves wielding that tool like it was totally harmless.

Iridian

Cool and slimy
Subie looks like Ashur from the Spartacus TV series. This makes me wary to trust him. :)

Shaving angle seems to be quite locked in and guided by the head and yeah, I would also rather estimate it to be a mild shaver.

Good catch, didn't notice that one yesterday.

Lots to like- blade clamping, polished, deep bend on blade, open comb, shallow fixed angle. Not too much material in the head to make it too heavy (like the Tile).

Handle specific though, and it doesn't seem to have any gnurling either. I had to file some light texture into my Romulus handle with some diamond files to make it more grippy. This looks too nice for that.

If it is ~$50 on sale I might give it a go.

Mild to mid is what I am looking for. Any difference from the Maggard V3?
I think the Maggard is more aggressive. The way Subieshaves was handling the Razor it looked to be mild. He reminds me of the Energizer Bunny using Duracell while chewing lumps of Sugar.

Its a lovely design though. I love how thin it is and sleek. If you give it a shot, do let us know so we can hop on board too.
