Tallow GFT Question

Hi guys!
Do any of you know approximately when Trumpers stopped using Tallow in their formulation? I just found a Coconut and Violet that had worked their way to the far end of my rotation cupboard. I picked them up in the one of the Trumpers stores in London in the summer of 2008. Any chance they are tallow?

Check the ingredient list. If it says "shave soap base" and/or "toilet soap base" in the list, then it's tallow. If it doesn't, it's veggie.

Right now I am at work offshore and unable to check for another two weeks.
Does it state the ingredients on the wooden lid?, because I threw the boxes away....

No... not on the lid, just the box.
Its a good bet though that they are tallow.

Unfortunately not. It only says it on the box. But if I had to guess, based on when you bought it it's highly likely you have the veggie version. I think they phased tallow out of their soaps at least a couple of years prior to '08. So unless those particular soaps were NOS, they're probably tallow-free.

EDIT: Trust Jim's advice over mine. He's much more knowledgeable about this than I am.

Even today I see tallow based Trumpers Soaps in shops in NYC all the time. So yeah you are on the other side of the change over, but its a good shot you do have tallow.

I think you just have to hunt & peck. Odds are they're tucked quietly away on a back shelf here & there throughout the city. If you were to spend a few hours hitting up different stores at locations various & sundry, you'd probably get lucky.
