T&H 1805 vs T&H lavender

Whats up fellas....just wondering why the 1805 is very popular againts thee other brands of T&H...what makes it so special..!? I see that the 1805 carries alot of different sents(I know they only make one kind) like; cedar, sandlewood, lavender...exc...in thier mix of ingredients....any suggestions..??

Not sure what your question is, but the reason the 1805 is popular is because it smells phenomally good. That's pretty much it. The other qualities of the cream are the same as the other T&H creams.

The 1805 is one of the best scented creams available anywhere.
This is what makes it so special and popular among wet shavers.
Also, in quality, it is T&H.

My wife thinks 1805 "smells like somehing your mother could use" ( she used those exact words). So obviously, I am not using it.

It is my understanding that you really like lavender creams.
For this reason you are buying Castle Forbes Lavender Oil, and that is an excellent choice.
Now it seems that you looking for some hints about T&H.
If so, I suppose you could like T&H Ultimate Comfort, which, containing natural lavender oil, has a nice Lavender fragrance.
Also, Truefitt & Hill UC gives first class shaves.
Try it!

On the other hand, if you're buying CF lavender, you may want some variety. In that case I would recommend one of the following T&H creams:

1) 1805
2) West Indian Limes
3) Grafton
4) Trafalgar

Other than Ultimate Comfort, those are my favorites of the T&H creams, and in about that order. Obviously, other people may have different opinions.

So are you guys saying that the 1805 is the best sent out of all the T&H shaving creams..?

Sorry, have to disagree. Of the T&H scents I've tried so far (1805, Trafalgar, Grafton) 1805 is nice but Trafalgar absolutely rocks.

Let you wife take a whiff of it and she'll have no doubt its a man's scent - definitely inspires visions of Admiral Nelson in full dress uniform coolly and nobly inspecting his men before setting sail to master the seas.

My no1 spot is shared by West Indian Limes and 1805.. Definitely, in my opinion, the best scents in the shaving world..

What dose the Gafton smell like..??

Technically, it's notes are a core of bitter lavender with some base notes of incense and musk. In reality...

It smells like a refined, educated, impeccably attired Englishman.

I've sampled through all of the T+H cologne scents, and this is my favorite.

First of all I want to clarify: Truefitt & Hill Ultimate Comfort, even if described as unscented, has a clear Lavender fragrance.
It is a light, subtle and fresh Lavender scent.
I truly like it.
T&H Lavender, instead, has a stronger scent of Lavender and is also a good cream.
My personal opinion is that, scent aside, the Ultimate Comfort is superior to the classic Lavender in terms of shave results.
Regarding the 1805, it is an excellent cream under every aspect.
It shaves very well and has a wonderful fragrance.
Being a cologne scented cream, it is somehow difficult to describe the way it smells.
You should try it.

The lavender cream is MUCH stronger than the UC cream in terms of scent. The UC has a very faint lavender scent.

I know a lot of guys like Grafton, but to me 1805 smells much better. My wife agrees. Scent preferences are highly personal. You'll have to try them both and see what you think.:thumbup1:
