SWMBO is a partial convert

The wife wanted to take a bath and shave her legs and asked where a razor is.
Well she is to scared to try anything other than a cart. So I found the generic Sensor combo.
But I gave her a tube of C.O. Bigelow and she loved it.
All is needed is to bring from the dark side for a full conversion is a decent DE

Pick out something mild for her maybe a vintage Gillette blue tip Super Speed or Lady Gillette. I got one for my GF and she switched over about 1/4 of her first leg into the shave I just had to show her it was safe to use/load before hand.

My wife is a member here and has been wetshaving for about a year now. She's pretty fond of whatever bath oil fragrance she is using but mostly lavender. She loves Queen Charlotte Lavender and TOBS Rose and every so often she uses the Prairie Creations I PIF'd her.

Let her try a long handle DE. I think my wife uses the Merkur long handle version rather than my old superspeeds. She says it's easier to use because of the angles. As far as blades she went through a few samplers and did not like the Feathers but pretty much everything else worked fine and now uses the Personna's red pack and loves them.

Also let her try some balms! Saint Charles Shave use to have a balm that my wife loves it's called Sahara and she uses their Avocado.

My wife loves KMF Lavender, and even bought a tube for one of her friends. She won't let her cartridge go, but I'm happy she's enjoying the lather. She also latched onto my Simpsons Colonel X2L brush, too.

I got my wife on the KMF lavender, too, but she is not going for DE under any circumstances. And, to be perfectly honest, I'm not sure a cartridge isn't the best choice for her legs, or some of the other areas she shaves, if you catch my drift.

I don't know about the "other areas" which should really be left to a professional (yes, I know what you mean by "other areas"), but it seems like legs would shave fine with a DE. I helped raise my much younger sister, and when she lived with me my grandmother taught her how to shave her legs, she has been doing that now for 25 plus years with little problem and hasn't ever waxed them to my knowledge. I used to buy her a flick razor with five heads for $2 (of course that is years ago). Women actually shaved with a DE (or later a cart) before Nair and hot wax. Since the professional hot wax method is very painful, it is to her benefit if your SWMBO only has to use that method on a smaller "other" area and just shave her legs manually every third day or so. On a side note, it would save about $50 a month to shave rather than professionally hot wax her legs.

I got my Mrs a EJ DE86, an EJ Best Badger brush and a tub of TOBS rose. She'll never be going back to carts.

My wife settled on a Lady G for above the waist and an injector for below - she finds the angles of the injector handle more comfortable for reaching down with.
