Super Adjustable vs. Fatboy

Maybe this will help my RAD, maybe it will make it worse.
How does the same setting on both of these compare? Is the FatBoy more aggressive or about the same?

I think they're about the same in blade exposure. Any performance variances are likely due to the weight difference.

The difference in blade exposure between mine is negligible.

I think the Fatboy might be a little tighter at the lowest numbers (which I never use).

I'd say that the Super Adjustable's setting at 2-1 are milder than the Slims and Fatboy. It's more ergonomic than it's older brothers and makes a great comfortable razor. Fatboys and Slims just have a cooler factor about them.

The 195 Adjustable and its "Slim" replacement are much the same in settings, and in shave quality, although the older one is slightly heavier, and balances differently (handle-heavy instead of head-heavy, the most usual condition). The Super Adjustable in the original length is very similar, but lighter, with a "click" less aggressiveness. A "9" on an SA is an "8" on the other two. My favorite remains the Slim, and I have much longer familiarity with my old SA, so it seems more comfortable to use than the 195 Adjustable does (which I never had when it was in production. I was using either electric razors, or Injectors during the time period of the "Fat Boy").

I prefer the Slim. The FB has a little higher head, more heft, and weight, which make it feel bulky. The Slim is just more refined to my taste.

I use a slim almost exclusively now. But I do have a FB headed my way for comparison.

I hope I like it. Not sure I'll need or want 4 of them, like I have slims, but who knows.

I have both and find my hand gravitates towards the Slim 9 out of 10 times versus the "Fatboy." I think the Slim gives an overall better shave.

My last several DE shaves had been with my original "regular" length SA razor, although I've been winging along lately with my Schick Hydromagic I2 a lot more than any other razor. Today, I was planning to do a comparison of two shaving creams, one on the left, one on the right, and I thought I'd go DE. Somehow, one of my Slims came to hand first, and had no blade in it. I used a fresh Astra SP. The cream part didn't work out as intended (CO Bigelow vs M1) both have Eucalyptus Oil, but it's barely noticeable in the CO Bigelow.

The Slim and Astra blade left a great deal of chin stubble, even after two passes and cleanup. My cheeks and neck feel DFS, but my chin isn't close to that. I'm disappointed in myself. I shave with DEs for 28 years, from 1965 to 1993, just about every day of the week, and then about once a week from 1993 to 2011. I'm supposed to be able to get closer that I just did.

I'm going to repeat tomorrow, but with the SA and the Astra that's already in that one . . (grumble, mumble, ratsafratz)
