I have been straight shaving for about a year now and have shaved with probably 50 different razors. I love testing out the different brands and different grinds. So anyway I have this one razor that is probably my favorite. It's an SSA from Eskilstuna. I was under the impression that the steel from Eskilstuna was excellent. This SSA is immaculate. Almost NOS condition. At least when I start a shave. Within 10-15 minutes or so, there appears at the blade edge, an area about 3-4mm wide by 1-2mm high, that blackens or stains in that short of time. I have cleaned the stain (with metal polish) after the last 2-3 shaves, and it seems like its gone, but then it comes back during the next shave, like right before my eyes! Very weird. Anyone else experience this before and what does this mean? Is this a flaw in the steel production process of the blade? Bad spot on the steel?
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!
