The only things that defy gravity are magnets and money. One of the reasons I like Str8 shaving is that I don't have to put money back into a system which is designed to send all the dough straight up to The Man (in the world of shaving this is especially so with corperate owned cartridge razor companies), and with such a normally mundane daily chore as shaving, I suppose it would feel just a little justifiable if we where paying for a great service, but cartridges & electrics suck, they give a crappy shave.

Who else here feels like they're STIKIN IT TO THE MAN when they shave with Str8, DE, or SE?

Actually, it is going to the stockholders and if you have a pension plan that is probably you!

But not 100 percent of it will end up benefiting you. I would argue that it's still better to shave with a straight and then pocket the savings, placing them into investments which you tailor to your own personal needs. Of course most of the people here don't pocket anything, they just buy more razors... and spend even more .

Well ... sounds like a good argument for spending as little as possible and saving as much as possible. Can't argue with that, as long as those savings are invested wisely. BUT -- I would refrain from encouraging others not to do business with the companies you are invested in! Wouldn't want THAT idea to spread!

Most people probably do spend beyond their means. Maybe not their immediate means, but their future means.
