Source for project, but not trashed straights

Hey everybody. I've been looking around at fleabay lately for a straight to make my own.
I've been using a gold dollar my ex girlfriend got me because I love the straight shave despite the ex situation.

Anyhow, I was looking at a gorgeous one on ebay and I realized I really like the gooseneck scales like these two:

proxy.php

I REALLY liked the top one, but I can't really justify it if I spend upwards of $50 for a razor at the moment.

Are there any sources for fixxer uppers that aren't outright abused?

thanks

Try http://whippeddog.com/ he has some razors that may fit the bill and they are not trash like you so often run across on ebay.
I haven't purchased anything from Larry Andro (I found about him too late) but, of all the razor vendors that I know, he has the most down-to-earth approach. I especially like that he recommends barber hones for maintenance. That is what I used for 28 years. Everything I've seen and heard about him indicates that he is the real deal. He provides a serviceable razor at a modest price for someone who wants to put their toe in to test the water.

Larry is a great guy. I have close to 40 razors, but I still use the ones I bought from him (which were the first). He put a very good edge on them.:thumbup1:
