Razor: Karve Overlander, aluminum
Blade: Personna Lab Blue (2)
Brush: Simpson Trafalgar T3
Soap: Razorock New York
Bowl: Captain's Choice Heavyweight copper
Post shave: Osma alum block, Thayer's Witch Hazel
Aftershave: Captain's Choice Nor'easter
All the items listed above worked synergistically to produce a fabulous shave.
Super close, super smooth. No weepers, etc. and no irritation. The second use of the Lab Blue was excellent.
It doesn't get any better than this!
Razor : Yaqi "Top aggressive slant"- Mfg 2019>, upper mid to aggressive range or lots of blade feel. I always like to use this razor to test my hand technique, I like to use a steep angle(riding the bar) with a short handle seems to work the best with this slant.
I also try not to plunk it down at the start of a stroke(it will bite if careless), the razor is not perfect but it's a excellent razor once it is mastered. Fresh blade with a shim underneath and it will sing & deliver some stellar excellent shaving. Had a close shave this morning with no issues. Blade : Gillette Perma-sharp (3) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity. Soap :TOBS Sandalwood cream, rich herbal sandalwood scented soap with excellent lather qualities. Brush : Yaqi " Coat tails" 24 mm synthetic, Excellent lather generator, pillow cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. For a Synthetic it feels close to a 2band badger IMO. Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area. Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups. Post shave : Proraso red sandalwood with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless). Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 1 blemish weeper= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi TGA slant razor with a Gillette Perma-sharp blade.

DFS+ 9.7 a couple weepers on my neck from being over zealous with my XTG pass on the whorls. Otherwise great shave with nominal drama. The Beagle surprised me a bit. It was unlike either my 2020 RV Shaving Shavemac two band silvertip Contributors Brush or my new Shavemac DO1 two band silvertip a bit scritchy. Not bad, just surprising. I'm sure it will settle down with time. I love Oxford & Cambridge and my lather today was spectacular. Best I have had with that soap. It helps that I now have the full size thanks to @TheLegalRazor for his generous PIF. I had it before, but, in the annoying travel size. I was thankful for it as the three pack was from my very first PIF in 2017. I ended up purchasing the travel container since the individual soaps were so small. That did help and I have always loved the scent. None the less the full size soap in a apothecary mug is much better, and, less messy. The spoiler is still going strong at 11. The only other time I used a spoiler I changed it out not because of lack of sharpness or degradation, but, because I dropped it on the floor. I haven't done any of my usual flipping flippery. In fact today is the first time I took it out of the razor because I want to save the Super Leggero for my ATT X1. Both my GTB from Doug and my WR2 are filmy with hard water and soap. I usually post pics from when items were new from embarrassment.
Pre-shave: Warm water rinse Razor: Gillette Slim G4 1961 Blade: BIC Astor (3) Soap: GD Soap (mallard) Brush: Semogue Pegasus C7 Mistura Post Shave: Alum Balm: Stirling Unscented
And a splash of The Veg
I haven’t had the best experiences with vintage razors including this one, but I set it on “4” and took my time today. The result is a reasonably ok shave with no drama. I’ll take it. Time to put it away until the next vintage week. The Semogue Pegasus Mistura continues to improve each use.
Was traveling
Razor: 1955 Gillette Red Tip Rhodium
Blade: Persona Platinum USA
Soap: Chiseled Face Sherlock (sample I traveled a week to late)
Brush: Muhle Travel
Aftershave balm: Fine Platinum
Pre-shave: Warm water splash / YBN Glycerin
Razor: Mühle R89 - DSC Destroyer Handle
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (3)
Brush: Mühle Purist Silvertip Badger Ebonite
Bowl: DSC scuttle
Cream: Speick shaving cream
Alum: none
A/S: POLA Galantom II after shave lotion
Aftercare: Aloe Vera Gel
EdT: Fées - Reims Vetiver
This Friday shave with the GSB in the R89 was an uneventful 2-pass (WTG) DFS. This is very surprising to me as the R89 isn't a DFS razor for me, especially with only WTG passes, but somehow today everything went incredibly smooth. I'm sure the GSB had a big part in today's shaving experience.
No surprises with Speick; lather was exceptionally good and slick as well as just right for a two pass shave.
The shave was completed with POLA's Galantom aftershave lotion from Japan which has lots of good stuff for the skin in it like witch hazel, royal jelly, lecithin, vitamin E, licorice and rice extracts. The scent is very muted but present. A bit woody and citrusy at the same time. My only issue is that the top of the bottle is rather small, so a bit of aftershave always ends up on the leather coated bottle; a quick wipe down takes care of that. I forwent the Thayers today because the aftershave already contains witch hazel.
The shave was completed with Fées - Reims Vetiver EdT from Taiwan.
